Before I even joined SB, Muton kindly spent his own dough to pick up a few figs that I really wanted at SDCC this year and has patiently been waiting to be paid ever since. And it wasn't even jp vinyl. When I joined this board last month and posted in the BST, I received a PM from Toybot with the subject heading: "Welcome to the Board." He wished me luck and offered to help if I had any questions. The only question I have now is, "How the f*ck am I gonna pay my Celga bill this month?!?" Thanks Toybot! I was more or less a stranger to both these dudes and a rank Fresh Meat at that, yet they both went out of their way to be really cool. RFSO.
I have been fortunate to have met lots of great people who have helped me out many times in the past. I'll pick out a couple of the guys who stand out. LocoMoco has helped me countless times in securing some of my favorite pieces of all time. He has gone to releases and lined up for me even though he wasn't planning to buy anything. The last time I was up in San Fran, he picked me and my wife up and took us on a toy shop tour. It was a Friday and he took time off of work to entertain us. Great guy who never loses his sense of humor and his smile. Chris Kohler did me a huge favor at SDCC this year. I was at SDCC from Preview Night on Wednesday all the way to the end on Sunday. Everyday I would go to Biskup's booth to get a raffle ticket for the chance to buy one of ten handpainted Pollards. Everyday I would return at the scheduled drawing time and everyday I would not hear my name called. On the last day, after the last chance for a Pollard was drawn, I realized it was over. I was about to leave when Chris, who was standing next to me, whispered, "Do you want one of the Pollards?" Through the shock, I nodded my head and said "YES". He handed me his ticket without any hesitation. He told me he already won one earlier and was just testing his luck. It was a very generous act from a very nice guy.
I want to nominate the following, Toybotstudios, Locomoco, DYBBUKIM, and little Dave, for I could not think of any S7 release with out seeing their smiling faces, and reminding me what this is all about! Geo for making me look at my figs in different ways! Jltohru and JHOTTROD for constantly cracking me up! Roger, Kaiju, Chad Hensley, Datadub, dr_tongues_toys, subterranean, bryanarchy, Skylar, SHAPESHIFTA, and Rhinomilk for their encyclopedic Kaiju knowledge! and Of course the S7 crew, for which i'd have nowhere to place this post.
I just read this but it is up to Brian and Issac to make the call. It might be a day or two more until Brian can read this thread. The prize is the RxH Chaos slime. I am confused, should the winner be the person who did the nicest thing or the person who told the story?
Well if that's the case, and it's based on the person that did the good deed and the people who are nominated the most in this thread AND Brian and Isaac get to decide - then I guess they win.........
it should go to the most selfless member of the board... so if you can determine who wants it the least, it should go to them. I personally don't think i could accept such a prize because there are so many more members here that deserve it more.
i'm not sure theres even a point to having a prize for this. what is important about this thread is everyone passing on stories about the great things others have done for them on this board. a prize would not seem to compliment the communal spirit going on here
Let's just put the figure in a wood chipper and we can all have a piece... ;D (I just saw Fargo again last night)
sorry, I have only been home a couple of days in the last month. I have the Ramos vote but I am still waiting for Flynn to cast his.
