I was thinking that it might be a good idea for me to take a little nap at work once I'm done with work... cooler than it would be at home.
Hmmm...its more like "hmm...it's only 100 degrees...." for me. 110 might be pushing it but really, 100 is nothing.
LOL. You know what, this year hasn't been that bad. Last year was worse. It doesn't get that "cold" here.
yeah, this past year was really pleasant... not too many hot days, not too many cold days. I have to eventually replace the furnace in my house (it died at the end winter), and my wife brought up the idea of getting AC installed at the same time, but it usually only gets this hot for about a week or two during the whole year, so I can't justify the cost of AC. It's amusing watching my cat plop down on the hard wood floor to cool down. Then he moves every 10 minutes as he warms up that section of the floor. Plop, plop, plop...
I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt and a regular tshirt...and I'm in Redwood City . I don't really feel the heat too much when I step outside.
Redwood City: "Climate Best By Government Test" You know, I don't think I've actually seen any redwood trees in Redwood City...
I love it when the Caltrain operator yells that phrase out as they stop in Redwood City. It is an interesting town.
There's a ton of outdoor cats at our complex. I feel for them with this heat. There's a big black one that just hides in the bushes all day. On a different topic, I didn't know that there were so many night animals here. We caught raccoons stealing fruit from a tree one night. Another night, I walked up to a huge possum sitting in our yard because I thought it was one of the cats.
Yeah an occasional mountain lion and or deer sometimes turn up in the santa cruz mountains. I've seen a few deer prancing around highway 9.
the bay area is spoiled. A few days of hot weather compared to a summer of 65 is nothing. suck it up guys.
Last I heard, there are still two of the original redwoods that once blanketed the area. They're along El Camino somewhere IIRC. banned, sad but true. As a native I'll defend the Bay Area on most points, but we are totally spoiled weather weenies.
Yes..you're very lucky. I remember at the s7 party, it was about 90 degrees in San Jose. I drove up 35 minutes to SF and the weather was so nice...breezy and cool.
Whenever it gets really hot, I like to go out for Indian food... for some reason, it always makes me feel cooler later on.
Had a couple of shiny vacation days in Belgium, now over to the 'usual' grey/wind/rain combination. After all, good weather is all in the mind, right ?
After decades of Miami summers, it is a scream to be up here in the Emerald Triangle in the summer - When the mercury approaches 75 degrees, people act like they're gonna faint in the streets. This is the warmest summer up here in Ft. Bragg in the last five or six years by far - Until this year, I don't remember a single day over 75, but this year there have been a few 80-degree days, and it looks like today will be another one. I don't know of even one building in this town with A/C (residential or commercial).
