super dork but only special event stuff...but I have them in a display book. Haunted Mansion events, Halloween events, X-Mas events...all is from World and not land...
it doesn't look like much, but i think on a lanyard, I am a real baller. haha. not as much as someone else here though. ahem...someone with two medallions.
Just got back from World and picked up as many Mansion pins I could lay my hands on. Also got some of the left over Lmt. Edition Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween ones - only the mansion related ones mind you. Other then that I don't collect any others.
I've made it a yearly ritual to trek to world every Halloween. They go all out. I too shall try and take pics of my pins.
Wow, thanks for making me feel much less like a dork for collecting toys!!! Just kidding! I love seeing pics of any kind of collection and look forward to seeing all the pins pics.
You're very welcome. Pins are super dork. No doubt. I've been to Disney World many times since a kid. But finding a soveiner was always very hard. I primarily like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the C. In the '70s, I bought a Pirates leather coin purse that I still have and I could have purchased a Haunted Mansion mystery box (or something like that). Pins are inexpensive. Can be dated for specific events. And some have gimmicks like glow-in-the-dark or moving parts. Land and World have been making pins for a long long time. There is even a Tomart magazine for pins. I have pins from specific years that I went with my wife for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Epcot's Food and Wine Festival, Mickey's Very Merry X-Mas Party, MGM's Spectacle of Lights, and Epcot's Holidays Around the World. Some of these pins were only available during the event at specific locations and/or hidden locations and sold during specific hours.
I can dig the pins. I'm not into the Disneyland ones specifically, but in general, pins make cool souveneirs. You can find 'em all over Japan in gachapon machines, from subway/shinkansen pins, monument pins, and a ton of character pins from the Bandai Museum just to name a few.
Tons of different stuff. Logo pins for the various sentai teams (Goranger up through Boukenger), various Ultraman team logo pins from the different shows, a series of pins that feature those funky "cutout" character designs in the opening credits of the original series, pins that featured the faces of different Mobile Suits (and for some reason a Popy logo pin, which I managed to snag). I'll see if I cant dig 'em out and take a pic....provided Missy doesn't mind me hijacking her thread
I also see a slightly flourescent Pumpkin head in that Halloween set on the file cab. Is that the new Ranger?
