    IMHO. . .

    No.

KR was only a gateway drug to S7 for me--and for that,
    I thank them.

    (but I like Peecols).

Maybe a "My Little Pony" topic can be included with the KR Korner? I will put you on the list, Biff!

Remember to leave your home door unlocked Friday night just in case some of us drop by. Same for all KR Korner list members. We need you to show yourselves now so we can organize a "celebration" committee to take appropriate action. Come on: tell everyone how much you love KR!

I still am not sold on the need to ostracize people who collect Western vinyl. The "KR crowd" is probably the source of 75% (more?) of new J-vinyl (most of this stuff isn't really kaiju anymore) collectors who visit this board. With things so deep in the crapper, I dunno...I'm just in support of a more open door policy. I didn't vote either way, but I guess I'm in the minority.

    Oui, je parle francais.

    Carry on.

this is tempting me to vote yes.

but, i once joined the kr forum to unload some unwanted crap, but you have to have 10 posts or whatever to start a sales thread. those 10 posts were the hardest things i had ever had to think of!!!! i could not find anything interesting/believable to say about anything kr. so, 10 +1's later, i was able to post my sales shit.., with that said, i don't think i want that stuff here....

We don't need it here because they already have a full board dedicated to KR stuff. A board that I might add that refused to add a section for Japanese Vinyl despite numerous attempts from members that contribute to this board.

So the ostracizing started on their end first.

I find very little KR stuff even worth discussing these days. There's already discussion of western stuff here, with the exception of very specific lines.

Just because things are "so deep in the crapper" doesn't mean we need to pollute this board with that stuff.

It was one of the first rules of this board. If you kill that off, then the spirit of this board would trully be dead.

I agree, and I believe that it would completely ruin the BST. I have no idea why there would be a good reason to have a dedicated forum, or allowance of KR topics - our subject matter is not theirs, and vice versa... no?
I always enjoyed the fact that I get my fix here, and that (unless I went directly into the forums I dont care for) I don't see anything that I think is terrible / doesn't belong. Also, Super7 doesn't dabble in selling KR pieces, from what I've seen - though I've never been to the store in person. How does stuff that the store doesn't remotely deal with belong? Just wondering, I totally thought this topic was a joke from the get-go, poking fun at a few French members hitting the BST w/outsider pieces. But it sounds like perhaps like some are serious about it :|

There will never ever be a KR korner on this board. First if your stupid enough to post topics/sales on the subject here you're immediately swarmed with requests to remove your post. What I love about this board (more than anything else) is the dedicated self policing here to keep it purely a japanese kaiju board. It may seem elitist at times but it does keep crap off the board and keeps me coming back here.

Well look, this is so much greyer than people are making it out to be. There's this ongoing "Is it OK for me to talk about this?" angst over W-vinyl. Tim Biskup W-vinyl? OK! Jim Woodring? Mostly OK! Joe Ledbetter? Eh, some OK, some not so OK. Kaws W-vinyl? Seems to go both ways.

So the idea that this has always been some sanctuary of J-vinyl and nothing else just isn't true. The enemy just plain isn't at the gates.

The way I see it, people enjoy bashing KR because it provides such an easy common target. I've never seen Skullbrain bashed on that board, though some collectors who were shown the welcome back-hand do sometimes bring it up. In general, I see the folks at KR enjoying both W-vinyl and J-vinyl angst free. I know I'm in the minority, but I just don't see the attraction of perpetuating the us/them division, especially when a (growing percentage of) J-vinyl could just as easily have been made by a company specializing in W-vinyl.

It's never been a purely a japanese kaiju board.
Maybe at the very beginning, I forget if there was an american idols forum back when Isaac was running it.

    Shades of grey.

There's alot of Woodring interest up here.
Maxtoyco makes toys that are produced in China if I remember correctly.
    Ron English discussions.
    Some of S7 like UglyDolls.
    David Horvath posts up here.
Also S7 magazines have featured Western stuff like Baseman and others
    etc etc

edit: missed Andy's post but I guess we're saying the same thing

I used 'japanese kaiju' in the broadest of terms. Of course there will always be exceptions to the rule, but I think generally people know what is safe to talk about and not such a good idea to talk about.

BTW, just to state the obvious - I don't think there's any reason to start a separate KR or W-vinyl section, since there's already plenty of discussion abotu that sort of stuff going on in the American Idols section.

I've seen he-man discussions on here, resin figures. Killer tomatoes, food fighters, mad balls, Toxic Crusaders, bloggins - none of those are Japanese vinyl.
I don't care if I figure comes from Japan, I just care that it's a cool toy. And I think most on here share common ideas of what toys are cool and aren't, that's why I'm here.
You collect transformers- there are transformers forums, star wars-star wars forums. My little ponies-there's a my little ponie forum. KR figs, there's a kid robot forum.
This is a Japanese vinyl forum, primarily focused on J vinyl but opened to cool shit that may not be Japanese vinyl but spills over because the like minded collectors here dig it (or sometimes hate it)

I know this whole poll started as a joke, but my thoughts.

I dont understand the KR hate especially when ALOT of the new kaiju looks very KR-ish which is why I dont collect it.I'd understand the hate if this was strictly a vintage/traditional kaiju board.

    Just seems weird to me

    It's black and white.

If you see "expletive deleted", then it's not to be discussed on this board.

I don't think we need a KR Korner here.
We have the American Idols section for everything else non-Japanese vinyl.

    just a side thought:
I consider Tim-Biskup, Bwana, and S7 to be pretty-much Western. though made in Japan, they're designed/based off of American artists' ideas. I think because maybe the artists in Japan have a lot to do with how it turns out that keeps it in the grey area for me.

Oh well yeah, same with Pushead and Martin and Le Merde. It's not about hating "western" designs or toys. It's about hating the low quality, unoriginal crap that KR produces and not tolerating it here.

Whaa? Watchu talkin' bout Willis? Seriously, I don't see the KR connection at all. If anything, recently it seems like some Western artists like ESC Toys are trying on the Kaiju moniker with piss poor results.
