    um thanks for the stab.

I sure collected figures when you had to PM ramos in 5sec to get a chance at a slime chaos or unpainted organ bat.

I sure tried to buy that superfest42chaos, then got an email that said I was too late and missed out.

I sure was around when the fungus chaos dropped and is now coveted by noobs and og's alike.

If thats not collecting 'rare' figs, I dont know what is.

Those aren't rare. Rare is before they where for sale on S7. Rare is when they where made under 20 as a regular run and most was still collecting dummies. So if you think those are rare you have a lot to learn.

What you mentioned to me aren't rare. Yes they are being hunted, but thats because they are hot right now. The true rare stuff I hope you never get !!, you would just get it because its rare and not because you really love it.

Sorry man but after you post on why you collect thats how I feel. Your still cool to me :) but that sucks that you only collect for those reasons.

ONLY collect for those reasons is not true.

collect because I love the figures AND there rare is true.

Why cant I love something for its design AND love it for being rare?

Well I apologize man , but from all your posts you make yourself sound like all you collect for is to have something not many others have and if its not rare you loose interest.

Collect because its what you like. Not for the run size. Thats why many #s will never be known. Most is all speculation. No matter if its rare in time it wont matter and you will loose interest.

I think you perceive the fact that the figure is actively being sold to the public at large, that somehow the allure is lost (my guess is that it will last a day or two)? That somehow, only being able to buy a figure because you knew somebody was more noble? I think you may be exaggerating in your mind how many are really out there, just because for a day or two the Jinja-R is available I think is a far shot from it being reality. I bet there are more fungus chaos figures produced than Jinja-R figures, in fact I can guarantee it. The original green, black, orange, pink and glow issue Mutant Chaos figures were available for at least a week or two each, some even almost a month from us, but I wouldn't say those are common, would you? I think you will be surprised how many are actually around MT, and in a short amount of time, the Jinja-R will also be rare and hard to get.

I enjoy the thrill of the hunt as well, it is what looking for rare figures is all about, but I wouldn't go crying if someone showed up tomorrow and gave me a 12" Bandai Inazuman with no effort! If you go for rarity only, you can't trust a new toy, as no one really knows how rare it is or not yet, only time can tell. If someone sold you on the fact that Jinja-R was a super rare release, they misled you, it is a normal release.

Man, this couldn't be farther from the truth.

the truth is I have so much LOVE for these figures, that I am actually jealous of other collectors. I am jealous of someone who can buy the same figure as me without putting in the countless hours of investigation that I have. I believe I would feel the same about a girl I had put in so much time with, just to see her get with a new guy who hardly tried at all. I know there are collectors here who have been after these figs before I even knew what JP vinyl was, I cant say im more or less "hardcore" than them, just that I have an undying love for my hobby and dont want to see anything negative happen to my favorite brands.

Im not a rocket scientest, but I do have great knowlage of myself, my small quirks and SOME of the reasoning behind my actions. I know that I can be a jealous person and a packrat and a bit obsessive.. a bad combination for a regular person, but I believe these parts of myself actually help my collecting and understanding these quirks actually help me become a better, more understanding person. Many people collect for many reasons, If I can use my habits to help change or heal my personal problems, I think its a win/ win situation.

so, thats a glimpse into the mind of MT. Am I different than others? yes, but I think everyone in the collecting community has there own quirks etc which we can all benefit from openly discussing. I am very interested and activly seek WHY I do the things I do, maybe this occasion will help me grow as a person and help me understand some of the many aspects of my hobby/habbit.

i got turned off on RxH when the only way (that i knew of) to get a release was to hit F5 on the night of a festival, and the "rare" ones were like 15,000+ yen off the bat. now i wish i bought them for trade bait! didn't require much research, just $$

would someone who only collects because of rareity spend the time and effort to take, edit, and post photos like these.

Would someone only interested in #s consistantly and obsessivly be on this board posting and chatting about EVERY aspect of his hobby?

would someone like you described spend THOUSANDS of dollars on a speculative market and the countless hours researching and conversing about these toys? to be honest im a little offended, I thought you would know me a little better than that.

"spend THOUSANDS of dollars on a speculative market"

This is a telling phrase. Are these "assets", to you?

    Nice shiv, hahahah.

Seriously, hanging out with others who only like what I like, I would never grow as a human being. So I welcome the challenges to what I like, and I grow by articulating why I like what I like.

Does that make sense to anyone?

When my friends come over they usually end up googling over my collection. And even more, the customs I'm working on over in the work area across the room from the collection.[/quote]

hehe - nice try, but no.

just my retort to anyone thinking Im in it for the $$..

If I were concerned w/ making money I would put my $$ into something w/ a guaranteed profit.

Beyond that I would never part w/ my lovelies.
