I only lived in California until I was 7, but I would expect that if you lived there for a while, you'd get used to it. Just like we get tornadoes and hurricanes in Texas. Does it still freak you guys out?
I felt it shake rather firmly and it lasted several seconds. I've lived here my whole life, so I usually shrug off earthquakes pretty casually. I usually just enjoy the ride but since I've been through more than one deadly quake, if they last longer than a few seconds, even I start to worry.
when we lived in the mission, sometimes I would feel the quake but my girlfriend who lived two blocks away could not. this whole state is like that cup of jello in jurassic park; that movie is better than Citizen Kane. Life WILL find a way.
The one that hit this morning occurred at the exact moment that I was sitting down in my desk chair. I thought I sat down really hard. Had to think about that for a minute.
This is the one that I felt this morning. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/ ... 337451.php Smaller than yesterday's.
Dear BASK, I can't decide. Should I a) blow this latest news off as "the price of being Californian" with the usual nonchalance, or b) BE REALLY REALLY WORRIED? All I know is I'm keeping clothes and a flashlight next to my bed for awhile. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/01/08/state/n130816S55.DTL&tsp=1
