picture from vinylpulse.com What do you guys think? I like it even more now that i've seen a painted version. The eyes!
Eye like it too No seriously, that this is awesome without being creepy! I might have to buy my first Captain max to fight this dood!
This is seriously cool. I hope that club members and others who can't attend SDCC will have a chance to buy it. Really great l'il monster!
i wouldn't have expected to like this, but i do. i don't think it would be nearly as interesting if the eyes didn't have pupils though. it needs that extra little bit of goofiness.
I think the GID one is way cooler, but the sculpt as a whole works great. Can't wait to see some more colors on this guy.
I prefer the GID too although the quasi-Hawaii colorway pictured above is real good. I also like how Mark's illustrations bring kaiju to life. Always dynamic and imaginative. In other Maxtoy news, I just saw that the Max x Cronic collabs are finally shipping!
Yeah, I got my shipping conf. for the Dorogami, wish I could score the SDCC stuff, but with what, less than 20 (?) available it doesn't look good.
Hm, no shipping confirmation here but I've learned to be patient about this. Mark's probably busy as all get-out this week.
No doubt, but I spoke too soon. Mav and Doro just arrived. Totally over-the-top beautiful! The Mav in sunlight is a total feast of translucent color. Eyes on Eyezon now ...
If you're a Maxtoy Club member, don't despair too much. As you probably know this is only the first Max/Cronic collab.
damn, i need mine!! hope it comes tomorrow and as usual, looking forward to toybot's pics which are always exceptional!
My Dorogami popped in today, more green on it than the original pics, but still killer......should we maybe start a new thread for this and not hijack Eyezons (he should have plenty of posts here refering to him after SDCC, he looks so cool!)
Yeah, I noticed that about the Dorogami too. The blue "M" signifying "Captain Maxx" is no longer legible as an "M." But ya know ... I like it better the way it turned out, with the dark green areas added. It looks more swamp-monsterous and fits in better with existing Dorogami colorways than the brighter originally-proposed colorway would have. Both collabs are total winners, as was the recent Maxtoy/Rumble Monsters collaboration. Mark's got a great knack for "keeping it kaiju" while maintaining his own clear sense of style and color. Sorry for drifting from Eyezon but at least it's all Maxtoy appreciation.
