That is a really interesting find, it certainly seems a little more 'Madball-ish', particularly with the [US] football shape, but the aesthetic of it to me seems like it could have been earlier as well. It really has that classic horror aspect somehow, in both character and colour choices. The material seems to be the same foam as most of these (and all those softer dodgeballs that tormented us as kids!) Hard to say. Pictured with the other 'madball' clones does seems to suggest a relation. But then, I don't really know where the actual origin of the concept first appeared; Madballs might not at all have been the first, and the trend in the 80s could have been a mere resurgence of the stylings from previous toy inspiration, not unlike Ma-Ba or other figures.
Yep. Now that I have seen the full effect, I am going to have to go with that one too. More triversible toys, please! (PS - Dada, I love you!)
That is just what makes it such a delight! I have already had tons of fun with her just from looking at the photos, so please pass along our thanks and collective appreciation to your friend.
You gotta be kidding me, I thought that was a completely naturalistic expression. I knew the triversible head was to good for this world! OK, this a complete non sequitur, so do forgive, but this defies physics and all logic and as I know it. The "triversible" is actually a jersey... with three sides? Or something? Besides the fact that this does not seem possible, why would you need three different colored jerseys? I mean, as a kid in gym, we had REVERSIBLE Jerseys. Two teams for a game, two different colored sides of your jersey. What was the demand that we needed this freak of science to be invented? I have never been more confused. And why are the models crouching in that bizarre posture 3/4s of the way through? Did I just fall for some elaborate hoax? Spoiler
Like always, Jason, you find the best angles. This is the first time I've looked at Neo Japan and felt signs of life. Ha, and from a blank version at that. So nice
Thanks! Indeed, a bootleg from a local department store. There was a "Stormtrooper" too, but nah... Spoiler
