Stuck the Ghost Ship Captain up on this mostly glow with a hairy Woo shelf. Picture is poo as I was up on a step ladder.
It still surprises me that I have this shelf, thought id be hunting a lot longer. your bootleg and madball shelf is just as rad dude.
Cool shelf. I really like that Sunguts Mizuki head with the candle on top. I regret not picking one up when they came out.
Thanks. I really regret not getting one of the head with candle lamps someone made a couple years back. Anyone remember the company who did that one?
Really liking that Ghost Ship Captain! Is that by Denboku? And Slip... nice setup dude! Whats the deal with the art though - all things WTWA have a special place in my heart
Sunguts did the big (maybe 1/1?) head electric lamp? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I thought it wasn't a toy company. Yes, the Ghost Ship Captain is Denboku.
S I talked to Le Merde about using his art to make those and he was fine with it. (I also have a 200% Kubrick of Max, that usually hangs out on that shelf as well). I used a copy of his original work that I found on VBS, and I blew up section of it in Photoshop. Next I printed each section using a 4,000 dollar printer (my college's), dry mounted them to a backing board, and hung them up on my wall. It was a doodle he did for a vice magazine promotional booklet. The really cool thing was, he sent me a copy of the booklet, and a couple of other things, because I asked his permission. Mike is a really great guy.
As stated earlier, I love my Le Merde collection as well. I may not have everything, or anything jawdropping on this shelf, but Mike's art and his toys are the same thing, and they're both stellar. Plus I'm a nut for symmetry.
I like this shelf very much, it has about all my favorites toys, nice One Off Ollie by the way. Congrats
I passed in this too and regret it, they made a jellyfish yokai too a few years back that I am kicking myself about also. But it was ¥40,000 yen so it would have been hard anyway to plunk down that cash.
Thanks moshi! I really lucked out with that King Smog. The toy gods must have been in a good mood that day.
