In a fair and just world where I have all the money I need i would've bought either of those paintings first...they rule. Even better up close, amazing line control and little details. There was so much stuff there that was just excellent.
That whole show was amazing! Much love to Kirby, Whitney, and Mark for putting it together. Jeff, really dug your masks! Did you get a vacuform machine or what?
This was a late entry, but my favorite. An HP Bazooka figure, on flesh color vinyl, and of course, SOLD OUT:
Somebody must have been checking back frequently on the rotofugi gallery preview. Congrats to whoever got it. Amazing piece. logang, where did you get those additional pictures from?
That taigan would be my 2nd pick of the show, flawless execution. For me the red drunk boy stole the show. Man o man what I wouldn't give for that.
I wonder what color vinyl Taigon is painted on??? I do like it a lot, though not in my top picks...Ilanena really did nail the vintage look with it. I love the Drunk Boy sculpt...I've held one in my hands and it is really very cool...and now he's in a new colorway called 'unattainable red' For me personally, there were some other talents from this show that I found really much more exciting and kept going back to look at...and still am, even though they are gone My faves in no particular order... The amazing eyes, colors, and DP's amazing top coat do it for me on this one... Mark's Eyezon would steal the show on any shelf...completely stunning! Sparkly suit with flames!...and very well executed. I have a thing for Z-Tons anyways...Toybot's would rock with or without the geetar! Really sorry I missed this one... To each their own though...completely drool worthy stuff by everyone!
So it was you. <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif\" alt=\"\" title=\"Sad\" /> Congrats on a badass score. It tops the list of the very few things I would have considered buying.
Neither really. No sneakiness involved....Ilanena simply changed his mind and gave us the okay to sell it a few days after the opening. We changed it on the preview list and announced it was available via our Twitter. The Yamo Bazooka was just a late arrival. Didn't make it in time for the opening, but was on the price list at the gallery. The buyer noticed it on the price list and asked to purchase it, sight unseen. Sorry about the weirdness...with a show this large there is bound to be some items show up late, sellers/buyers changing their minds, etc. We try to run a tight ship but with that many cooks in the kitchen it gets a little messy sometimes.
Its all good. I wasn't meaning nothing bad about the sneaky term I used. Anyways, Ilanea painted this? Damn. Killer job.
oops missed this when you posted it...I actually paid a guy to do the vacu-forming, he was an experienced pro that did an amazing job. I hope to do more designs in the future.
thanks of course I'll have pics when I get it from Kirby. I know of some other people that wanted it. I'll try to take pics but I don't think they are going to do it justice.
His eyes are burning hot embers, with the chard black smoke resin stains creeping up and out of his sockets.
