Show your vinyls that you've filled with stuff! Or, sure, if they're cool enough and/or you have cool enough photos, ones that already came like that I filled a Walking Hedo with GID frogs from the craft store...no glow photos yet, but I will get some eventually. I gave the same treatment to my Nor'easter Vegetius a while back...but photos of this one are really hard! The vinyl is darker and has more paint, as well as glitter. Again, I promise eventual glow shots of this one too. For now, the only shot I could get that clearly shows frogs...
That Hedo looks bad ass! Great idea with the frogs. You can really see them clearly through the blue vinyl. Cannot wait for glow pics.
Glad you like it. I mostly decided to use these frogs as an alternative to expensive glow gravel which I've never tried. The frogs are $3 for a pack of 14 and are actually sold in a bag with a header, it's neat. So far I've only seen them at a place called Pat Catan's but I mean they've almost certainly gotta be available elsewhere. If I recall correctly, the Hedo took about 4-5 bags worth to fill. If, after I get glow pics up, anyone really wants some frogs, let me know and I can try to hook you up!
Now THAT is an idea. Or I could even just fill it up with some of that pool water...if one looks closely, there are a bunch of tiny little critters swimming around in it! Most of them are mosquito larvae, but I like to pretend otherwise.
that is one of the best walking hedos imo, and the gid frogs thing is a cool/original idea. the wide variety of things i've seen stuffed inside clear vinyl on here never ceases to amaze me! little babies, bb's, now frogs?! sweet....
Now, a problem... Well as I can charge him up, my brother's camera can't even like, see it. We got it to work just fine with another glowie, but it was a good deal brighter than this guy tends to be. Currently working on a new way to charge him up really well for long periods of time...then I will try again for glow shots. Need some new lamps...
Very nice idea. It seems filling transparent vinyl is some kind of passion for some. I would never have thought of anything like this. But as I like painting resin kits, I guess this is another way of customizing one's toy without damaging it. The frogs seem to not have been hurt during the process, which is good. Seriously, your pics are very nice, the frogs seem to be swimming inside Hedoran.
LOVE this idea. I've got a clear Zag on the way from a board member, and this has given me a bunch of ideas.
They were a little frightened, but I was gentle. Yeah, the frogs are of a nice soft, bendy plastic...if you look at the photo of the bottom of the feet, you can see how some of them became contorted while being stuffed inside. But no permanent damage to the frogs. About damage, I have had to open up and mess with this a few times so as to not push the foot-frogs in too far; the bottoms of the Hedo's feet became uneven and distorted. Wouldn't want it to stay like that for too long. Also, may have to open it up yet again to fit another one into the head...I'd like to fill in the edges a little better. Glad you like them! I am no pro when it comes to photography, and I hardly know how to work the camera I used for this...so it was mostly luck! But I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. My next idea is to buy a bunch of different glowie creatures I've seen...they aren't sold in the same format as the frogs, nor in the same store, but I want to give them a try and see how well they glow. Imagine a vinyl filled with all different sorts of creepy-crawly critters! Then, say it 5 times fast.
Awesome, man! Love seeing creative stuff like this...especially when that stuff *glows*! Your camera may just not be able to hack it, but if you can get one with a shutter speed you can boost upto around 15 seconds, you should be good to go. Just use the delay, set up the shot, hit the button, and right before the shutter opens, douse the lights...that should give you the best results. Good luck!
perfect use for a pile of rement...there's a bunch laying around behind the scenes at TT, maybe into the bellies of beasts it should go.
Various filled Killers. With some future releases of clear Killers planned, hopefully we'll see some more photos. Killer filled with Krusty O's. C/- Me Great shots by Kirkland. Filled with plastic Koi Some cool shots of a Killer test shot filled with erasers. C/- Bwana & Gargamel crew Eraser inards. C/- Maz (Hope no one minds me posting these pics. If so, PM me and i'll take them down)
Been meaning to post some (of the MANY) translucent vinyls filled with glow gravel...just been lazy! Actually, I was about to post this in the Space Troopers thread, but then I remember this one! As you can tell, I like doing Space Trooper mash-ups. Those all-clear bodies make me think of how they'd look when teleporting into battle. Yes, I'm a nerd.
great pics. I love what you've done with the troops, the glowie pic is awesome. and don't worry, nerd is the new cool.
Thanks guys! Heh...I didn't even realize it until now, but whenever I mess around with those clear ones with the glow gravel in them, I semi-consciously make the classic Star Trek transporter sound effect in my head! (And, c'mon...who *doesn't* go pew pew pew in their heads when playing with the raygun-armed ones!)
