I was on a connecting flight through Boston that was hit by lightning, dropped a fair few feet in the air. That was fun. Most people end up with headcolds due to all the air being re-circulated. There's also one of the planes that British Airways fly that seeps fumes into the main part of the plane (a known problem that they've tried to deny). I'm usually asleep before the plane takes off though.
About the germs, that Airborne stuff is essential to modern travel. Two doses before every flight for me.
Well, it takes all kinds ... Me, I think Airborne is among the biggest scams / most brilliant marketing concepts ever. They took the 'fact' that 'everyone gets sick after a flight' and ran with it. Now every time people take it but don't get sick after a flight (which they wouldn't have anyway, most likely), they give Airborne the credit. I wish I could convince people that something dreadful was much more likely than it actually is and make $ from 'preventing' it! I see it as exactly the same reason that dogs chase cars - i.e., because from the dog's POV, it 'obviously works' - The car runs away every single time, doesn't it?
I've also used Airborne when I start to feel a cold coming on, and I definitely experience a decrease in symptoms when I use it opposed to when I don't. Your mileage may vary.
I do think that's different - I eat extra D and a few grams of C a day in the same circumstance, and believe it helps - We're probably doing basically the same thing there, I'm just a cheapskate about it.
