For the artists only - Miami studio space
I thought I'd forward/post this email, to tempt all of the talented artists we have here -- Whether those who are already in Miami, or those brave souls who are simply up for the change!

Among their other programs, the Art Center in South (Miami) Beach offers forty-plus individual reduced-rent studio spaces to artists, all at seriously primo locations the Center owns (Spread among three buildings on Lincoln Road, smack in the heart of South Beach) - The location offers working artists lots and lots of foot traffic/buyers, locals and tourists both (Kiehl's, Williams-Sonoma, etc. pay exorbitant rents for space on Lincoln). I believe each artist has to re-apply for one of the forty-plus spaces every year, so that new applicants get a fair shot at a studio.

Here's the application info, the deadline is 9.1.08. (I was slightly amused by one part of this, only because I'm not 100% certain that, if I were an artist, I would necessarily view a bi-monthly "studio visit and critique" as a 'benefit'!)

LMK if anyone actually applies for an ArtCenter space, it just might be possible for me to put in a good word ...
