You miss a week checking into SB and all of this happens!? I am so sorry to see these things happen to anyone let alone Manny. To me, this right here speaks volumes as to how B.S. these charges are: "The department would not comment on why Padilla had not been arrested on the date of the alleged train-wrecking attempt, referring the question to the district attorney’s office." If they would have any thought that he was actually trying to put that wire on the tracks in order to derail a train, then they would have arrested him on the spot right then and there. He let go of the wire because he heard the train coming and didn't want to cause any problems for the train. And what was the search for? Why would they even bother to search his house unless they knew they didn't have much on him?? My guess is that they wanted to search his house in order to see if they can find anything else to pin on him. Did they think they would find elaborate, Wile Coyote - style, drawn up plans of him wanting to take a barricade wire across the tracks in order to derail it?!?! No... The search had nothing to do what he was arrested for... They just were hoping to find something illegal in order to Trump up even more charges... And how appropriate of a term is "Trump" in this case.... Over-inflated and full of bulls-hit lies, just like he who holds that name. And to anyone who would even think that Manny would even think about derailing a train that could potentially kill so many people in the process, need to think again. Manny was out there protesting for all of those people who were murdered. He was out there protesting and also trying to protect his fellow protesters by trying to shield them, with his own body, from the rubber bullets that they were firing at them (from what I remember reading). He cares so deeply about people, and people that he doesn't even personally know, to go out there and continue to actively protest against these incredible injustices. How could anyone think that derailing a train, that could hurt so many lives, would even cross his mind..?!?! FFS.... And on top of that, they started unjustly harassing and arrested his wife... WTF?! Why even arrest her if she was only to get a citation..? How does "engaging in misconduct related to mirror vehicle registration" even get you arrested?? I am so sorry that all of this B.S. is happening to Manny and his family (and countless of other innocent people). I wish Manny a fantastic lawyer, a fair judge, and a fair jury that will see past these B.S. lies... Hello everyone, thank you to Boone for starting this thread and calling attention to my current situation. My amazing wife has summarized your post, I wish she could read all of them to me, but we have already spent about $1000 on phone calls. I’d like to simply explain what’s going on so it’s clear instead of muddled by everyone looking from the outside in. LASD is accusing me, simply to intimidate myself and fellow protestors. I didn’t do shit and now one was even hurt from what I’m being accused of. If anyone wants to take the time, look up the Andres Guardado case to see how these pigs serve justice. It looks like I’ll be stuck in jail til my court date on January 8th, after my birthday! Some have denied racism in the justice system; Kyle Rittenhouse who KILLED two people is out on bail, while NO ONE was hurt from what I’m being falsely accused of and have been denied bail. Now I’m a political prisoner and a hashtag. Hate to say I told you so.

I just saw the news right now myself. Fuckin’ incredible. All praise and acknowledgment to Emanuel, Meagan, his family, and all of their friends and fellow fighters on the frontlines. Beyond relieved he isn’t sitting in prison until the day after his birthday for just a hearing. Hopefully he won’t be in there much longer and will get home ASAP! GO E - MAN!!!

Really glad to hear this. On DA Gascon's second day in office! Heard him talking about planned reforms a bit on NPR today, I like what the guy had to say. Regardless, hopefully this obscene miscarriage of justice will not be the last wrong that is righted in the coming years. So glad for Eman and his family.
FANTASTIC news. So relieving. Glad that sanity prevailed and corruption & thuggery failed on this one. I had seen all the news and clips of the meeting w/ Gascon, and that was great and encouraging, but to have the best possible news come so quickly on the heels of that was a stunner, given what we've come to expect in these fucked-up situations. This is good news indeed. Fucking LA Sheriff's are an abhorrent lot of corrupt pieces of shit. This entire thing read like a shakedown by their department and the D.A.'s office. I thought I had posted in this thread before about the sheriff's dept. being so corrupt, especially in the City of Compton. I don't know why it didn't post. Regardless, I am glad to read E-man will be released and hope that he, his family and his friends can all breathe a sigh of relief. More importantly, I hope he continues to exercise his right to protest.
