With so many of these coming out as regular releases, luck bag items, and Trash Out gatchapon, I wanted to start a thread of them to see what's out there. Here are all of the (or what I believe to be all of the) regular release Zags and Angel Birds: Andy had this green gatchapon set for sale recently (pic with permission): I'd love to see the Ooze Bats and Miboras and other variations that are out there.
Re: Gargamel Micros Sorry for a bad cell phone pic. That Ooze Bat back there is orange. The color is awesome! There are also GID Zags, Birds and Ooze Bats.
Re: Gargamel Micros Stalker Zag by ΛstroNate, on Flickr I have three variations of the zag and seem to be learning about more all the time. Great photos guys.
Re: Gargamel Micros Wasn't there also a Mibora? viewtopic.php?f=3&t=33357&p=487095&hilit=+mibora+micro#p487095 viewtopic.php?f=3&t=36466&p=548718&hilit=+mibora+micro#p548718
Re: Gargamel Micros heh heh... I love this pic.... I laugh every time I see it! Mr. Z moonlighting as a tow truck driver?
Re: Gargamel Micros I like the pink GID Micro Zag, but I had to get mine fixed: And the micros are cute, but in a way they represent everything that's right and wrong with Japanese boutique toys these days. Good: Awesome sculpt, neat concept (having a version of the character you can carry in your pocket), nice color selection. Bad: Way too expensive. I think the unpainted ones retail for at least 1,500 yen, painted ones more? I mean, why not make erasers instead? The characters are proven at this point, trust them to do volume for you and make more people happy. Churn them out by the gross, sell a bag of 20 for 2,000 yen at retail and keep them in stock forever. You want to keep the "special" aspect? Fine, make exclusive color versions to sell in the Thrash Out vending machines.
Re: Gargamel Micros Hmmm I guess I have a totally different perspective on these. I think that may be because they're way cheaper than you think though. The gatchapon machine costs 500 yen, the regular released versions were 500 yen and in the pics above a Kiyoka hand paint is only 1500 yen. I think that is very reasonable. Even in the secondary market here with US sellers they are only $10. I also feel like the regular issues are pretty abundant. I also feel vinyl is a much more durable option than eraser or the resins they did before, but on the other hand I wouldn't say no to a 2000 yen bag full of gargamel erasers either haha. On the other hand, I wouldn't say no to more resins or erasers either... but I do feel vinyl is a much more durable option than either of two choices.
Re: Gargamel Micros I stand corrected on the pricing thing, I see on their site that the pink GID one sold for 500 yen, but the painted ones sold for 1500 and 2000: http://gargamel.jp/item/others04.html I still think the toy sort of tests the limits of how much collectors will pay for so little. Bring on the erasers.
Re: Gargamel Micros Ah I see why you're confused on pricing. The link you sent is showing the pocket size not the micro size. I think aside from the hand paints and the shows and the few that were in the lucky bags, all the rest were 500 yen regular release or 500 yen gatchapon items. The pocket sized are around 3" tall.
Re: Gargamel Micros each try on the gacha machine is indeed 500yen. but if u are gunning for a particular character, there is no guarantee you will score in one try. so chances are it will likely cost quite a bit if u want something unique like a hp or mibora. i think 300yen will be very nice
Re: Gargamel Micros Man, for 3 or 500Y I would hit a micro vinyl Gashapon machine every time I walked buy.
Re: Gargamel Micros At 500 yen there's no reason not to keep going until you're penniless. Micro miborah is great. Not sure when I'll be able to visit the machine but it's definitely on the bucket list.
Re: Gargamel Micros That machine at TO is addictive. Best part of jammin those 500yen coins in there is if its during a show, when others are also tryin their luck. Everyone is craning their neck to see whatchoo pulled, and there's always people trading. FUN!
