I just got in my mint Marmit Gallery Blue Hedorah from list member JL and very much appreciate his prompt and very careful packaging for the transit to the US from France. Big thumbs up to JL! I have been looking for the blue Gallery version since it was released in 2003 and can now say that my Marmit Vinyl Paradise Smogorama is complete !!
those all look spectacular together as a set. and you do some very nice photography as well. awesome!
funny, really. We take this petroleum waste and/or oil by-product. Then we have a creature that was a smack against air pollution. Then we paint him up in beautiful, attractive colors. Almost hypocritical. Or poetic. I haven't decided which. And if they make a shit brown, snot green, puke yellow, and green pus version--- would ya buy'em? Personally I'm most fond of the blue one. Er, the pink one, too. Not so much on the green.
Thanks very much - I do spend extra time with my photos on composition and lighting to get the best shot. I used a tripod and six photo lamps for this pic and I too think that it came out especially well.
That is a great hedorah for sure, and wildly underrated, but, not to rain on your parade but there are at least two more versions to get (sorry!) -blue with the reverse red and gold eyes from the version you have -flesh unpainted -I think at least one more variation (when I unpack I will know for sure!)
No rain, I was referring to completing my collection (that is, ones I was looking for), and not being a "completist" in the true sense. I already know about the reverse eye, I just prefer the one I got much better. And as for unpainted VP-78 Smogs, Quanto magazine shows the flesh and a grey unpainted. Now if Marmit had made a blue translucent show exclusive, I would have been all over that !!
