Yeah WTF! He ain't dead. And Dennis doesn't need to retire, there isn't a news anchor out there as pimp as him. Wish we could get KTVU down here, I miss it.

Dennis Richmond is a cool local icon but Bay Area locals of a certain age will always remember Bob Wilkins as the region's monster pimp.

I pity the fool who has to follow Dennis Richmond's gig... it would almost be better if they got some total clown as a mid-meal sorbet course for a few weeks and then introduce the real replacement. He was always my favorite local news anchor... he would've kicked Ron Burgandy's ass!!!

This is truly sad indeed. He was one of the things that made me feel like I was back in the SF of my youth whenever I am there. And anyone named Dennis is cool in my book.
Yeah, awesome tribute. He'll be missed indeed. KTVU still has its Bay Area edge but Richmond hails from the pre-Fox KTVU era, when it was folksy and had that funky local casualness.
