Wasn't sure if this was the right spot for this, but I saw a Be@rbrick thread and figures this would "pass mustard". Plus, I figured a couple folks might find this amusing/crazy/offensive/weird and/or awesome. Personally, I find it strangely desirable, but not over $300 strangely desirable. Since the new Godzilla flick was co-directed by the creator Neon Genesis Evangelion, there seems to be some mash-up merch being released combining the two franchises. But wait, there's more.
Well, I mean, it is absurd... but I imagine that some fans of both franchises might find it appealing. Maybe a minority, though, I'm not sure. I think it worked out better than what I would've expected had I just known the concept.
It's a great idea visually, and I would buy a cheap novelty item/action figure that I could forget fast, but that might be it. If there was something coming in the Eva universe, like an OVA or manga, I would be curious. The fit isn't bad with the angels often morphing in to all kinds of crazy shapes. Who knows, it might breathe new life to both franchises.
Rockin' Jelly Bean released a silkscreen poster as well. Discovered their stuff yesterday actually and between them and Erostika, their posters are insanely cool.
RJB print is much cooler than the figure, although lacking his signature bodacious babes. Toy seems very disjointed to me (and not in a good way).
I think Erostika just does the bodacious babes, RJB just prints em. I could be horribly mistaken though!
I've been aware of RBJ for quite awhile due to his inclusion in Juxtapose magazine. Always figured 'RJB' refered to the artist, and looking it up, that's right. Erostika is the shop that carries his stuff. From his site (I can't tell from the wording if he's behind Erostika): I agree with @Kerk1 that the poster is the coolest thing to come out of this so far. But, we haven't seen Hideaki Anno's actual fig yet (a Metal Gear/Godzilla/Evangelion unholy amalgamation sounds like it might be cool to me, plus, I don't know, there might be more stuff on the way ?) @MisterYuck Thanks for posting that poster! If you just discovered RJB, you might not know he's done some toys. These are quite a few years old (there was a third girl). These were the best pics I could find of these, unfortunately.. Back in my action figure days this LITERALLY blew my mind. Not sure why I didn't actually try to acquire one.
RJB is indeed the artist himself and Erostika is his brand. I happened to have some pics handy of the 3 Barba Rockets figures. Not a big fan of that mashup figure, but I understand it's appeal.

Big fan of the artist but honestly these girls stay in their boxes. Glad I had something useful to contribute for once hahaha
I love erostika. I'm gonna need that poster soon enough. RJB has done some of my favorite tee shirts, it's too bad they're that ridiculous Japanese pricing. This mashup is right up my alley. It's all of my childhood with all of my teenage angst.

im probably in the minority on this but i love them all. neon genesis is my favorite anime and who doesnt love godzilla. the 500ish price tag is way too much for me to pull the trigger. ill probably end up getting the mecha godzilla in the purple colorway since its a little cheaper. either way the figure posted is sold out at most toy outlets
