http://www.kill5.com/game.php?id=dont_look_back Not for ps3, but what if atari made a scary zombie game. I got stuck playing this for hours today.
Resident evil 5 is good, much more fun with a friend, and if you haven't already played it, Dead Space is actually pretty neat.
Man, I'll let you know 1 thing about RE5 (I have xbox version, but this is my universal problem with it): If you're not playing with someone you KNOW, it blows. I can't get into it because all of my friends played/beat it in the first month, and now I have no one to play with. I keep getting teamed up with idiots, I'm pretty much done with it. Not nearly as fun as RE4, but I guess when it comes to RE I like to fly solo.
Condemned 2: Bloodshot. cause 2x4 wielding homeless junkies are way scarier than monsters. but there are some paranormal-type baddies involved too. great game, best hand-to-hand combat system ever. LOTS of scares. I have it for the 360, but I'm sure it's identical on the ps3.
RE5. Co-op with a buddy rules. One thing though, it did make me a little uncomfortable that so much of the game involved killing Africans and taking their treasure (gold/jewels/artifacts). I mean...I get it, the game's set in Africa and they're zombies and all...I'm not trying to make a big deal about it...I'm just saying...I, personally, found it to be kind of unsettling. Maybe that was the point.
RE5 doesnt fit horror at all imo, 4 was pretty amazing, but the Cube exclusives were the best for actual zombies. Get the downloadable Siren: Blood Curse, full game is $39... http://news.filefront.com/wp-content/up ... iren22.jpg http://www.psu.com/media/siren-/siren--ss-19.jpg http://www.tiff.net/blogs/archivedimage ... /siren.jpg http://blogtitlan.com/wp-content/upload ... -08_05.jpg
Dead Space is pretty good. Fire it up and turn off the lights. If you have a pretty good sound system hooked up to your TV, you'll get to hear a lot of the background sounds that really adds to the atmosphere of the game. If you do get it, spend the money and go to the PSN store to get a suit upgrade. It makes the game easier cause you'll be able to carry a lot more. I have yet to unlock the hardest difficulty in the game but I have played it more than once all the way through.
Siren is fun - very Jhorror RE5 + Dead Space are both worthwhile and creepy in their own respect. I loved FEAR2: Project Origin - nice mix of FPS and horror (or "WTF" moments) One of my faves, and it's not horror, but the main character you play is a super-zombie for the government is The Last Guy! Soooo much fun
right? the whole thing was just so well made - and a bit hard too! I like the fact that the power-ups and whatnot are randomized, so while the buildings stay stationary, the helpers don't which really does make things go either for or against you. I need to get the update
The update will give you trophy support but you'll have to reset your saved games. If you're deep into the game or have finished it, you might want to think about getting the update.
I think I have the first 4-5 levels down so it won't be a killer to start it over again. too bad this also wasn't for the PSP
It's funny you've brought that up, as when testing RE5, people complained that it was really racist. So they had to change it. Sounds like not quite enough. I've played RE4 and loved it, but hav'nt tried RE5. I have played Dead Space, but after that i realised i actually don't like jumpy, horror games. It's not that i poo my pants and the like. I just can't stand jumping all the time. I feel like(for UK peeps who used to watch Harry Enfield's show) one of the double take brothers.
What offends me most about RE5 is all my friends bought and beat it in the first week, asses. If anyone has it for XBox and wants to go this weekend sometime, hit me up. OR if anyone WANTS it for the XBox and wants to swap something, let me know. I just never touch it now. I agree, it's more of an action game the way it plays vs. horror, but whatever. I tried a demo for Dead Space, didn't get into it. I'd like a Romero based survival horror game. In the sense of 1 head shot=1 kill, slow, dead zombies. I know that the dynamics of that might not be as exciting sounding as the way zombies are in RE or L4D but if there were a TON of them, yeah, it'd work. You'd have to actually STOP AND AIM. You'd RUN OUT OF AMMO. Things like that could make a really fun and interesting game, I think.
Haven't picked up RE5 and I am surprised at myself for that. Usually I am drooling at the prospect of playing any RE game. I heard it's ridiculous hard by yourself and co-op is a necessity. As for Dead Space I want to play it but I am such a scaredy cat when it comes to surprises and I heard Dead Space has a lot. Also it's 39.95 last I checked at Best Buy. I'll probably pick it up, AFTER SDCC. ~Maddie
