literally five blocks straight down the street from me. i'm moving to bernal heights and getting a cat and a motorcycle and a yard. this happens too frequently in the neighborhood, but its usually young high school kids in gangs who'd rather shoot someone than take a beatdown (or shoot someone in response to being beatdown earlier). but this one is underworld politics. very sketchy

People are kinda edgy about an anticipated backlash over this...

Having been a rider for 8 years, this news is somewhat sad and disturbing to me.

I belong to one of the oldest mc club here, and our group has been heavily influenced by the riding groups from the U.S. and specifically, patterned and very similar to the Angels.

I'm glad that not a single case of mc club related violence has ever been reported here in recent years.

Uh oh, look out Mongols! Seriously, I'm not advocating violence (ok, maybe I am!) but the Angels - as the most storied MC club - will have to put a beat down on whoever did this. There's no way they can let this go unpunished.

Are the Hell's Angels really still as bad ass as they used to be? Thought they had the volume turned down...

Our group was formed in the 70's after the Angel's "badass" appeal and reputation with a local context, probably---typical of riders here to copy the Angel's riding habits (cross country, short ride, long rides, etc.) , camaraderie and love for motorbikes. The riding culture in general, minus what you mentioned above, if these are confirmed.

it's cool that you guys are into the motorcycle culture, but i would be a little wary of romanticizing the Hells Angels.

Make no mistake, they are a gang of criminals.

I am one of the youngest riders in my group---most of my fellow riders are 55 to 65 years old, so none of them are into bar brawls and stuffs like that. Our club is into socio-civic activities, outreach programs and charity rides. We are actually trying to encourage more bikers since most of our roads are so narrow and with the rising prices of gasoline, the bikes should be offered as an alternative.

Yeah, yeah, I ride with grandpas and people old enough to be my dad, by they are such cool dudes. OG bikers if you may, I learn a lot from them whenever we have long rides.

We are against the "gang like, badboy" image of the bikers, so, yeah, we stay away from romanticizing the Angel's. Promote informed riding fueled by our passion for bikes.

5 more people shot down here in the Mission last night (3 of them 1 block from me). However, not Hell's Angel's related.
    Just plain ol' Mission shootings.

seriously, what's up with all the shootings in the neighborhood lately? once in awhile is unfortunately not a big deal, but the past couple of weeks have been crazy.

last night I walked 4 block in pajama bottoms and I was the sketchiest guy on the street! Its chiill here in the inner richmond. get out of the mission!

PS- the angels, mongols and on the east coast the pagans are just as criminal as they've always been. Dont let the books/fame fool you.

I keep forgetting that I'm not the only 'brainer in the Inner Richmond. I left the Mission about 14 months ago, and yeah ... it may not be as dynamic on the streets here, but by comparison it sure is safe and quiet. Violence in the Mission comes and goes in cycles. Right now seems to be the first hot spot in years. Spooky that the murder spots are close to and actually on the 24th Street corridor now.

I've been wondering who that cat in the flannel Pikachu pajama bottoms wandering around at night was. Now it can be told...
