You both are not lying. I woke up to a ton of pics of a killer Green King Ju and was like "What!?!"
What kind of release was done for the greenies? It sure wasn't on the hxs website was it?
Even when it was on the website for some reason there was no info for me for the cyclops one :/
The green kings, like Mike said, were probably held off entries from the last lotto. Probably missed the lotto window for the MG2 Decypher, he took the post down after 24 hours due to still receiving submissions.
The lottery for the Cyclops MGJ version was removed by HS after the lottery ended. Submissions on May 27, 2017. Price 25000 yen. Here are the photos that were removed.
The recent King Gorilla Ju. Instagram photo by waynequ1982.
Amazing, green is my top pic for anything really. And love how the Cyclops MGJ ver. has T-28 esque boosters on the back. These two are def on the top of my list, especially since they were the most recent and hopefully, one day, obtainable.
I absolutely love the t-28 reference in the MJ2. With that in mind this would have been the definitive paint job for me.
I think these versions fit the T28 look better. Not my picture, but I'm glad I've been able to find 3 of the 4 in the picture for that reason. They're all 55 blue, similar to the M1 T28. Plus the mixing of red and yellow eyes fits well.
Thanks @chimply.kaiju for actually adding to the discussion with information and sharing of pics, rather than just vaguely alluding to something posted elsewhere. I get that we don't openly talk about when lottos are active, but this whole hush-hush aspect that has almost become the norm for collecting - hyped toys I should say, which is telling in and of itself - is really irksome. This board is after all a place for discussion, not just another photo-sharing/bragging or place to whine about missing out site. Not directed at anyone in particular, but looking back through these threads you'd be surprised at how little information is actually presented in 150+ pages.
@animator Completely agree with you David. The deep blue with silvery paint accents, complimented by the red and yellow, really channels all the best of T-28. That whole lineup is phenomenal, and I think having 3/4 of them, you'd have to be considered pretty damn thrilled at the feat. One on its own is impressive, the family together is just showcasing the wonder of these toys - their link but also their disparity - at a whole other level. Truth be told, I also sort of hope he does a more 'classic' T-28 colour scheme at some point. Maybe he tried, and found it didn't suit the characters as much, but I'd still be very interested to see the efforts. Anyway, thumbs up for yours, and whomever else's collection that is.
I am not an artist either It's just a person who makes soft vinyl I got a chance this time, at megumi ogita gallery in Ginza To do "Soft Vinyl Monster Exhibition" became.
Because I am preparing variously, I hope you can come.
Details will be gradually updated Thanking you in advance.
This looks cool. Though my first thought was hxs painted by izumonster. Which would be mind blowing.
I would love to be able to attend that show. I can't even imagine what kind of awesome stuff will be shown.
haha I just came here to upload that picture. Love the flyer art. What I'd give to be at that show, it's near my birthday so if anyone in Japan feels like helping me out inbox me! I'm trying to create a gorilla collection and so far only have Marusan.
You're definitely sb MVP 2017.
I *heart* you.
Somebody give this man a gorilla.
Beautiful Green King. Still waiting on that Kraken lottery.. I haven't put my hat in in what seems like over a year. Pretty excited to see some coverage of this event too.
It is great to know that there will be HXS sofubi sold at the show.
I hope he takes open preorders.
there will be like 10 thousand preorders.
Yes. I know there will be no open preorders...
This time exhibition at first,
We are ready to sell new Kaiju.
But if selling by first come
first served basis.
Maybe somebody do flip.
( sell second market,do yahoo/
eBay Auction )
So we don't do this way.
But we ready to enjoyment
( come from long way distance )
So well come our first exhibition
There will be super chaotic scenes at this event of the year for sure.
I think the VIP list alone will be chaotic, lets see how this event pans out
If any maker is truly concern about re-sellers, just take the cue from Anraku and have the balls to go the medicom route.
Over time, I can assure you that there wouldn't be 10,000 pre-orders
It's a double edged sword. You wanna make legitimate fans happy, but you don't want to compromise the personal integrity of your toys, which is what I assume artists like Hirota retain when they keep their runs short.
very excited about the many releases that Hirota mentioned in his blog.
on the poster the King ju is the gray color skin version.
as far as I know the only gray skin king ju is the mandarake one off.
pictures are from twopumpkin
but the drawing in the picture is the new open mouth head.
This show looks like it's going to be bananas, and if you know how the Japanese crowds assemble for shoe releases and how they did for kaws drops... it will be more than crazy just to see the line.
its there now lol.
I think you guys are interpreting his message incorrectly. I believe he is saying that if he sells items at the show it would be chaotic and then there would be a lot of flipping afterwards. He just wants people to enjoy the show so this will be strictly an exhibition, no sales.
Makes sense now that you've mentioned. If it's indeed so, lots of people traveling to Japan are going to be shocked and maybe pissed
The exhibit will offer a retrospective look at Hirota’s toys featuring each colorway released plus potentially one-offs/tests. In addition to his gorilla and monster sofubi figures, the event will also feature a display of paintings, skateboards, and the debut of two new monsters. And…expect a surprise or two.
This is an exhibition in the museum sense of the word—no toys will be available for sale.
I would love a poster of this:
From a different exhibition. I am surprised no one mention this weird piece.
