You can mail it straight to hell @kichigai !! Ok ok - that's enough of playing up the bad guy image that some members here have cultivated amongst themselves. I'm not looking for drama, I'm trying to encourage quite the opposite, however it seems like the members who always throw stones in here are hungry for it.

For all of the "white knights" who were so offended and shocked by my response to @shincartoon backing down and deleting images which added substantial content to the HxS thread - I was only encouraging the guy to stand his ground and don't succumb to people throwing a tantrum over HxS images being posted in the HxS thread. It wasn't like he was posting lottery information or anything like that. It was a solid post, bringing to the community's attention that Hirota now has an instagram (and kudos for using the boards new-ish insta tag function.. I know @TiredChildren would be proud!)

Maybe I should have said don't be a "push-over" instead of "pussy" - both are latin derivatives of the three letter killer-combo "pus" which is also a common nickname for HxS collaborator "pus"head, henceforth I do declare that the use of the word "pussy" is completely legal in the delicate realm of Skulldrain 2018.

Seriously though @shincartoon - don't start censoring yourself because you feel pressured, or even bullied by members here. Post whatever images you feel like posting, voice whatever opinions you have on toys - don't just bend-over (please don't report this phrase @kichigai lol) to every SB member that has some issue with something you've posted. Anyways, you guys can figure out what should be posted in purple or not... I'm colour-blind anyway. Don't go making colour-blind comments or I'll go crying to the admins over here!!!! I'm warning you!!!

 

Wait... this is all about someone sharing the fact that Hirota has an instagram page?

How is that a bad thing? When exactly did this place go from sharing the love of toys through images and discussions to this super secret shadow world nonsense? Are people seriously THAT worried about their odds of "winning" a toy going from 1 in 1000 to 1 in 1007? Not sharing live lottery stuff makes sense but trying to admonish someone for sharing the fact an artist has a new way to interact with fans and show off his work makes no sense at all.

Hopefully I misunderstood something and that isn't what any of this is about but how the hell would I even know considering everyone seems to be speaking in tongues and backwards Navajo anagrams.

 

That's EXACTLY what this is all about. And it wasn't even posted in an obvious way either - someone was kind enough to share some images from the account here on SB, only to be blasted by a true OG kaijoo sofoobee collector. Didn't even post the instagram account name if I can remember correctly. Considering the recent shift in HxS pricing, digital images are the best most of us could hope for

Hey SB Hirota fans!

Looks like he finally made an official instagram page to share his toys and art with everyone! If you want to see the pictures he shares himself of his own work you should check it out. Because that's what this whole 164 page thread is about right? The artist and his work and getting to see as much of it as we can? I for one am excited to see how he shares his own stuff rather than just seeing what his fans share or just scrolling through a blog in a language I barely have a grasp of.

For anyone mad about a link to the actual artist's social image sharing page maybe stop and think that if the artist himself wants people to see his pictures then anyone who doesn't want people to see them is thinking more about their own collection and less about the artist or his fans.

So @eckotyper pokes a little fun at someone simply re-posting IG images. I chime in, saying he has a point but that I don't really care in this particular case. Everybody else goes nuts for two pages, attacking each other, claiming "tantrums" were thrown, new members "being bullied" and that we should all share more..?? REALLY..??!?

There used to be a time when a bit of secrecy was one of the unspoken rules here, even before the big Chinese buyout. If you want something that's hard to get, maybe you should be prepared to put in a little work. If you think everybody who has an account on here must be your friend because they claim to be liking the same toys you are, then you are incredibly naive and haven't been around long enough (just search for "eloco").
I shall now go outside where it is raining, but I won't use an umbrella because the rain is my friend. Seriously guys...

Well I’ll apologize to @shincartoon because lord that went way past the intentions.
I was asking if he would just post every post, because there have been only 3, and all 3 were posted at one time.
I think HxS now being on IG could actually be something brought to the discussion, but the basis of my post was in my eyes a fair one. We don’t know how, or when the account will be used in the future. We do know where though being it was IG, and the tagged photos lead you straight to the page if you click it. That was not the problem, i was asking to get a sense on his perspective of posting all 3. It’s not actually a problem now.
Sarcasm can’t be picked up in writing all the time, i suppose i should of used purple.
The fine line in this was because of potential future sharing. SB had the unspoken rule about raffles. Hell even years ago when i got curious about HxS i did my own homework to find out about who/what/when/where about the new maker and releases etc. I was asking because there’s some users (not saying shin at all cause i don’t know.) that will repost lotto info, they care more about the likes etc, rather than the simple thought process that the less people that know about it, the better chances it is for you, or your friends to go after the release.
Let’s say the 4th post happened to be about lotto info etc, i was wondering if Shin would post that as well. Just a simple question. I didn’t call names, or any “threat” or what not. Just mainly asking with the thought in my mind that if it continued, and there happened to be lotto/release info, that it would be potentially posted here during the application period.
Many here take the time daily looking at multiple hush sites just to see if anything new has perhaps has been posted.
Lately since sofubi has now crossed over in a sense with western vinyl, it’s more of a battle for all of us than it ever was. There was a time where there wouldn’t even be a sub forum on a then popular forum for S7 and sofubi. From a foggy memory, i believe it was said because they were 2 totally different followings.
Western for the most part technically is still looked down here which is fine. Yet now any sofubi active lotto, scheduled release will in fact be shared on multiple blogs that didn’t bat a eye to the eastern front years ago, or weren’t even around. Blogs want those clicks, and don’t mind if they are alienating their supporters in the process.
I think we all feel it a little when we see some Fresh Meat win a lotto on a coveted item, only to instantly use it as trade bait or a cash cow... case and point... madtoyz anniversary release. At least 2 were instantly being shopped around for $$$$$.

Again @shincartoon i apologize because holy crap the next page etc after my post went way beyond my intentions with the initial post.

 

When I had the chance to speak with Hirota in person, he said the small scale dolls were his favorite out of all his creations because they remind him of being a kid.

That, is what I respect.

Thanks! My wife and I picked up a photo cube and I finally had a day off work and got to play around with it.

 

It's a great set and I hope you can find one. I'd love to see this set turned into a whole series of characters.
