ok a bunch of yous guys is gonna be in the show, but who is actually going for the opening? i'm considering just riding up there after work. if you have no idea what i'm talking about http://blue77gallery.com/shows/iwg/
Hate openings on Fridays. Would have to check out the show another weekend. But do go and take some good pics. Seen some amazing customs so far. Especially from people on the board. Here's my own entry based on my original character Bakasaurus:
Joe, your custom is really a beauty! If you've never visited Rocket World, it is really a cool place. Part toy store, part stealth gear store, and part fossil store. The fossils themselves are really neat! Patrick Ma is also a really nice guy! P.S. Make sure you get directions to the gallery, the store front looks more like a warehouse! Truly a secret location
true. you can buy stuff like this at TAD Gear (Rocketworld) I was buying knives from Patrick long before toys...
Can someone please post pics of the show if you have them? I'm still stuck at work with another hour to go
I knew I forgot to bring something Some were cool but there were also a few that just should not have been there (okay...there was one that looks like it was done by a 2 year old). Jeremy from toycyte was there so there should be pics coming up soon. http://www.toycyte.com/ Toycyte was there. Toy Break was there (thanks for the tiny Gwin, George). Pretty good crowd was at hand. Oh..that Leecifer guy was there too
I wear a number of hats geologist, database administrator, GIS analyst, and graphics designer. Right now I'm designing exhibit boards for a booth. The booth setup was ordered 5 days ago and just arrived into the office yesterday. The conference is on Wednesday next week, and they only told me about the assignment 2 days ago! Aaaaaaaaaa! So I'm graphic designing like mad, assembling all the photos, downloading stock photos to fill the gaps. I finished the board layouts and I'm right in the middle of collaging and processing the photos. Technical text comes next (just finished that!). Satin photo paper rolls arrive on Monday (I pray!) else it's heavy weight bond for printing (eventually scrim vinyl). Madness! Sheer madness! Also had to do GIS and database for a proposal all last week. Payback in vacation overtime is gonna be a beeeach! ...oh, and flyers will have to be designed and printed in-house this Sunday P.S. Gatchabert, thanks for the photo link!
Yeppers! At least my employers are super nice and very flexible. They let me keep odd hours, bonuses, and job security is strong so far (knock on wood)--with multiple skill sets everyone wants a piece of you, so annual reviews are very positive ...and so is the toy fund
Draft Mockup (30% of original size) is quequed to print! Raster print file is 1.4 GB. Counting down at 609 mb! 30 mins to go! Why are you still up Joe?
and it seems neither do you! I think us Kaiju collectors, eventually morph into Zombies, no? File has been ripped on the plotter! P.S. It's 2:19, I've looked everywhere around the office, and no Goga . Joe must have toy magic finding skills.
Bert was pimpin' all night!!! There's a nice shot of me grinning like an idiot, cause my stuff got snatched up pretty quickly and we have grocery cashola now!!!
Easy when I'm hanging around you...hahahaha. That was a fun show and I got to meet some really cool people. George handed me a gwin to paint...one of the super small gwins.
I do! I have a set bed time. You somehow sleep later and wake up earlier than me. Yea, I'm a vampire at night and a zombie during the day. And Goga!!! Still on the hunt. Awesome pics coverage. Thanks for the link. I wonder if my Baka sold...
For reals. Big thanks to Alex for setting this up. And looks like all the pieces are up for sale here: http://blue77.bigcartel.com/products
Really great show this was. Toys and knives in the same space. Viva San Francisco. In Phoenix right now catching my breath after the Resin Collective (mindblowing) and Kaiju Blasphemy (Monsters. In a Bead Shop). Saw some more from Bert, Kirkland, Bwana, Le Merde, Leecifer, Arbito, Monstrehero, Kill, many others. Lots to write. Many pictures to caption. Stay tuned. Here's the Human Beware coverage for starters: http://www.toycyte.com/iwg-humans-bewar ... cket-world Still filling in a few I.W.G. captions. Message me if you see something wrong. Next shows coming soon. Oh, and Lee, Angelo has another pic of you grinning and me paying rapt, albeit Smurfy attention, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wordyrehab ... 7/sizes/o/
