put their differences aside and reunited with the key members (Danzig, Doyle, Only - with whatever drummer) for one song only and the song they chose to play was... RATT FINK
I have a misfits story. Back around 1983-4 I was heavy into collecting, selling and trading Japanese diecast toys. The Misfits came through and Glenn Danzig and another one of them came to my house to buy some toys. I was all fan boyed out,it was like GOD was coming. Within 15 minutes as I watched them crawl around my living room floor playing with their purchasesmaking 'battle noises' the spell dissipated. No longe PUNK ROCK GODS..just weird nerds. LOL.
when i saw glenn danzig for the first time (at some LA comic convention about 5-6 years ago) all i remember thinking was... "damn, that dude is short, and why the fuck is he wearing a long black leather trenchcoat?"
I saw the MISFITS back in the day at CBGB which closed recently..They are moving to Vegas but it just won't be the same..
I am 97% sure I saw Glenn Danzig outside of the Mariott next to Comic Con this year. We took an airport shuttle and stopped to drop another passenger off, and i kept hitting skylar's leg around all these strangers like "Is it him? is it him?"
Great thread hijack. Misfits stayed at my band's tiny one-room apatment in the winter of '81 - massive snowstorm meant that the local (readnly) punk club was closed, so they show up at our door with a mutual friend, in full makeup and regalia, covered with snow - Doyle & Jerry toting their customized guitars, which were covered with snow as well. Nice guys, though - slept on our floor, and left us a stack of Walk Among Us LPs and posters, which we could probably buy a house with now.
Glenn is a fixture for SDCC, and I've found him to be willing to talk on anything, and was nice enough to sign a few cds. i told him he should have played wolverine in the x-men, movie, he saids , thanks I wish I was asked to.
