.............diecast vehicles like Hot Wheels, Matchbox or Johnny Lightning? Been kind of interested in these lately. I had a friend give me his childhood collection. Pretty cool stuff.
i used to have a nice grip of matchboxes as a kid... i used to launch those things off stairs, smash them into walls and any other sort of destructive thing i couldve put them through. i loved them.
My cars were also destroyed by being thrown off of the stairs when I was a kid. If I still had all of those cars I would have a pretty valuable collection........... oh well, little did I know to keep those things in good shape back in the day.
I've been collectin HWs since 96. All of em are in boxes..about 200 loose and about 300 still carded, I used to try and get em all, now I just buy anything hotrod or mucle car realted.
I used to collect a little bit, would love to get rid of them and clear display room, pm me if you want Rat
I was a major Hot Wheels dude as a boy. My dad was a big enthusiast ... he restored antique cars as a hobby so I think he was kinda re-living his boyhood by buying me all the Hot Wheels stuff. A few years ago I bought several of the Lowrider Hot Wheels ... really well done, actually, but I only got 'em to display with the original vinyl "Homies" set ... I wasn't really thinking of it as collecting. Anyway, I still put 'em out sometimes 'cause they're cool. Unlike so many cheap-o plastic kids' toys these days, Hot Wheels are built tough to last and endure the playful abuse that kids put them through. I also remember that my parents loved Tonka truck toys 'cause they were built to last. My little nephew now has all the car toys I had at his age, a testament to their durability.
I don't think so. I don't remember that series name, although I didn't save the packaging. They were just called "lowriders." IIRC one is a pink Impala with pinstriping and gold under-hoot parts, another is a dark red "bomba" although I don't remember the make ... pretty sure another is a supersport. I'm moving next week so they're all packed up, but maybe I can post some pics next week.
