KAIJU INVADES SAN FRANCISCO SHOW OPENS 12/12 AT DOUBLE PUNCH

Seriously fun show last night.
Big thanks to Mark for organizing it all.
And especially for bringing over Sunguts and Dream Rocket.
Yajima-san is probably the funniest toy maker I've met.
Ichimiya-san was also great to hang out with.
It was also impressive to see Matt work.

Does anyone know the Double Punch link to the show? I heard the Double Punch was going to put toys and paintings that did not sell on-line. I cannot find it, so maybe they have not done it yet. It is an excellent opportunity for people who could not come to pick-up some great toys from the show.

Late to the list and late to the show. What can I say? Rain on the bridge, parking in North Beach. Saw Kirkland and Bert and Dustin but missed the rest of you. Always cool to meet artists like Matt who I've been writing about for a while. Missed the pinstripe demo, but got away with the Dead Presidents x SUNGUTS Suiko collab from the demo. And another SUNGUTS piece. They look awesome together. Of course I want more. Double Punch says they will be listed on Ningyoushi this week. Here's my write-up. Has unintentional (?) Santa effect when paired with fuzzy hat.

 

it was intentional. i rubbed his fuzzy hat and he said, "Christmas" and then pointed to his shirt and then pointed back to his hat, while Dream Rocket just laughed.

Now that Dead Presidents has stopped trying to pinstripe the fuck out of every toy he touches I can almost agree . . .

 

The blending from color to color is pretty amazing.

Just getting here, but thanks for taking the time to interview those guys, K. I appreciate the answer to my dumb question about the Walker Machines.
