I like the ashtray in theory, but have no reason to ever own one...
And if anyone ever tried to smoke in my apartment or use it as an ashtray they'd get a rant.

 

can I get some KAWS mudflaps for my truck, a KAWS bobblehead, scratch-n-sniff stickers, pencil toppers, stationery, & snow globe?

I dunno. Guy puts (and has put) out great vinyl. These other KAWS releases (ashtrays, booties, sunglasses, beach towels) are not my cup of tea to say the least, but they do get lapped up right quick, huh.

 

I have some bootleg kaws ashtrays from a few years back that are way more impressive than this one.

 

The ashtray is so clearly self parody its almost clever. If it had a new character or new ideas is really would be clever.

 

yeah, maybe I should revise that to say "fuck this garbage." Get back to making at least marginally cool vinyl, KAWS!

 

Or a good set of silkscreens. Or paint something interesting.

You'd think after all these posts we'd have some good KAWS joning but sadly that's not the case. Come on haters, step up your game.

 

I own the Dissecteds and several 5YL Companions.
They are all really nice.

I can't get into this lifestyle crap or t-shirts and booties.
And the self parody is lame, especially with those KAWS heads...

 

I think these are completely stupid and way overhyped. I love KAWS, but these are obnoxiously overpriced for what they are. I actually dig the idea and the design, but what they sell for can't be justified whatsoever.

I know the whole, "to each his own," thing comes into play here, and while I bite my tongue with a lot of the releases I see around here, I can't with these. They should be 5-10 bucks a piece.

Fuck Kaws. Anybody that condones a life-size sculpt of his own head is a fucking douchebag. Anybody that buys one should be stripped of their wealth.

 

Its too bad "the hate" doesn't translate to cheaper prices for his older stuff.

 

It would be funny if the ashtray is made of vinyl and melts a bit everytime you use it...
