Super7 Presents: Le Merde Le Merde is Portland based artist Mike Kelly. His work ranges from paintings and sculpture to hand cast figures. He draws inspiration from all walks of pop-culture, including heavy metal music and 1970’s cartoon characters. He is part of the art collective Grass Hut which includes Bwana Spoons, Martin Ontiveros, Apak and Scrappers. More of his work can be seen at www.lemerde.com. Le Merde once again brings his own distinctive brand of art to the walls of Super7 when “Let’s Get Turdical” opens Saturday, May 3rd from 7-11 pm running through the end of the month!

Beautiful pieces. He even painted a full-size Gargamel Zag in familiar colors (as well as a series of other Gargamel figures). Nice.
Just got back from the show, it was a blast!Le Merde had some great work, even Koji pitched in.Ill have some pics up in a bit.
Here are a few snaps I took tonight... the show was awesome! And now I'm broke. I couldn't stay very long and was in such a rush I forgot to pick up the new clear Zag!! argh! Oh well, another excuse to go back and check out the show.
The show was fucking great! It was great meeting Le Merde and chatting it up. Had a great time tonight.
