Munky King has 2 stores: LA Chinatown and Melrose Span of Sunset Kid Robot (ahem!) Giant Robot LA There are also 3 cool toy stores (one of which is designer toys) in the mall where Empress Pavillion Restaurant is located in LA Chinatown: 988 N Hill St Ste 201 A trip to LA chinatown will net you great dim sum at Empress, Munky King and the other designer toy store in the mall. worth it!
little tokyo has NO toy stores to offer you. only go there is you want to eat some food and drink some sake chinatown on the other hand has a few places to check out. nothing i would go out of my way to go to, only go if you are going to be in the area
There is "Jungle" in Little tokyo. They have some Kaiju Vinyl, but really overpriced. Mostly Anime stuff.
Jungle is at that little mall on 2nd (in the inside part, not the outdoor part), but as Paul said they're overpriced, and when I was there, not very friendly.
Cool, don't think I'll wast my time then. As far as other LA shops I'm pretty sure I've been to every one of them. Please refer to my post made on KR sometime ago. http://forums.kidrobot.com/viewtopic.php?t=28693
I would agree that Jungle is pricey, but I do think it's worth a look. I always manage to spend at least $20 or $30, and sometimes they have good deals on sale stuff. They've always been nice to me, including showing me old ultraman videos to figure out what I'm looking for.
Can someone confirm this is the shop being discussed? http://animejungle.net/ Looks like it, think I'll go for a visit tomorrow.
Just got back, pretty cool store. If you're into Masked Rider and Godzilla you should stay away.....or not but remember I warned you.
