Anyone recognize this colorway on the M1 JJ? I ran across this on the evilBay and was wondering if it was legit. I haven't seen this one before. The seller is saying it's a 1997 M1/Bullmark 'Burning Toys' limited edition. Something is bugging me about the paint job, but it could just be me. -- jJ
Just ran across it but the description states: This custom color by BURNING TOYS limited edition. The carved seal of the sole is BULLMARK and M-ichigo What is Burning Toys?
For shits and giggles, I emailed the seller if "Burning Toys" was the name of the custom, or the customizer.
I had this on my watch list as well; I thought it looked a bit "off." I'm no expert, but even if it was legit, it's not like I have any money after SDCC anyways.
I follow M1 releases pretty closely and I've never seen that one before - I'm sure it doesn't exist in the Club Tokyo database (which includes just about every standard and limited edition M1). Most importantly the paint job is way too crude for M1. "I'd buy that for a dollar" but not 200 of 'em.
M1 paints are as flawless as you get for production and this is wayyyy off. NO M1 paint I have ever seen is flat in areas and shiny in others.
A toy shop. They've had some Amapro limited edition stuff before (such as the mechagonira) and I'm sure some others, but I don't know what. I've purchased from them before. This is their website. http://www.geocities.jp/rx7z400fxe4/index.htm You can see a pic of it here, third row down, left of the mechagonira. Very well may be a Burning Toys store edition, but it does look awfully crude. Burning Toys specializes in a lot of vintage stuff, maybe they wanted it to look that way. Dunno. http://www.geocities.jp/rx7z400fxe4/genteitoy.htm
Wow...I'm stunned you recognized it since it appears to be an obscure store custom. Crazy. Thanks, Paulie. -- jJ
