My girlfriend picked up this 9" Ultraman vinyl for my birthday from the net and paid about $150. Just visible just above the Bullmark logo is the faint SAN logo and copyright symbol. Does this mean he's a fake or bootleg, or is this common in the Bullmark mould? The usual 'vinyl smell' isn't that strong and the vinyl itself maybe differs slightly from some of the other vinyl Kaiju I have. Anyone heard of this before?
According to Club Tokyo it is usual for the Marusan stamp to be seen. Bullmark bought Marusan's (vintage line) molds when they tanked, so you wouldn't see an actual Marusan release with a Bullmark stamp as far as I know. http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemListingRpt.php?catID=1&subCatID=12&contentID=1728 Another useful reference for Ultra toys specifically is Mark Nagata's collection website: http://www.ultramantoys.com/
awesome stuff you got there, great purchase. I don't think my wife would ever even consider buying me toys...!
Thanks. I take it she's not a toy fan then? My girlfriend was initially like "I just don't get it" when I started collecting. This year she bought herself a Giant sized glow M1 Garamon!
