I already got my Hedorah this week and it has been blocked in the customs for more than a week ! But believe me, they're worth the wait. I did not know they came in a big cardboard box with a color page. Each are individually bagged with header inside.
saw these this morning I dunno how I feel about paint apps on this series... hope there are unpainted sets too.
Huh. I don't think I've ever seen that sculpt of Zetton before. Is it vintage? But I agree: not feeling the spray.
The Hedorah set arrived last week, and I went ahead and took some unboxing pictures. These things take up an enormous amount of space in my tiny apartment. The light blue and the deep violet are my favorite.
Those are awesome. These sets are scaring me...I love the idea so much I might pick up characters I normally wouldn't. And I know my graphic designer wife would love them because they look like Pantone sequences.
ugh....we'll be getting our sets in soon and it's driving me nuts. I got a set for myself and one for the shop. If they're as good as the Garamon then I'll have to clear off a special place on the shelves for 'em
There's got to be some subliminal message shit embedded in these guys. Everytime I see it I want it. I mean all of them!
Series 9 : Zetton - scheduled for October A "regular" release, no paint app. as we've seen a picture of previously.
we now have the m-pop series at the store. I got a set for myself and man, they are awesome! Right now I have 'em on a shelf above my office window. I face the window and they bring a smog monster rainbow to my work every day
Yeah, my MG set is shipping from China at the moment...I think I'm gonna have a minor freak-out when they arrive!
hey all, for those who picked up a set or even single figures, did any of you notice rough spots on the figures? i have a hedorah set and just noticed that the coat seems uneven in areas.
Yup I have the same thing going on with my Red Hedo. Hedos got a skin condition...lol. What could cause that? Uneven application of something in the factory?
I just checked my MG set...and I *think* I'm seeing what you guys are talking about...but I dunno. I mean, they look like most unpainted vinyls I've handled: there are some matte spots and some glossy ones. But you have to look REAL close and under ideal lighting to make them out. I didn't think these figures (or other such unpainted vinyls) were clear-coated at all. Doesn't it seem kinda bizarre to clear-coat a toy to protect a nonexistent paintjob?? I've always just assumed that the surface finish was a function of the actual vinyl production: something in the formula of the fluid vinyl, the time and temperature it's "baked" at, the age/condition of the mold, how quickly it was pulled from the mold...whatever. Since these guys are kinda made in bulk, I just figured they were processed a little quicker than they shoulda been (like, I found some excess scrap vinyl sticking outta the belly joint on one MG that I had to hack off with a knife)...
thanks guys for chiming in. i also talked about this with another board member who has a set of hedorahs and we both have the same issue as well. turns out it was a production issue and it's just the way they are unfortunately. regarding the "coat", you guys sort of know what i mean right? even the blanks we have, have a bit of a sheen/clear coat feel or look to them. they're never just a rough matte right?
