I saw a spectacular Aion toy yesterday, but it was on a shelf with no header. No idea who makes it. I'll ask. The thing kept calling my attention.
How about this one ? It looks so vintage and cute.... I got no idea which TV series it is from. Please help. Thx
that is a mirrorman villain too i think gold satan? http://super7store.com/store/detail.php?item_id=9529
No, but it is the same character. It's a Tsubraya reissue of a Bullmark toy. Thanks to Hiro for helping with the origin. I bought it and will post pictures ASAP.
a couple of vintage aions in this pic . someone on this board just got the yonesawa walker and hopefully will post it soon .
Thank you for posting the great photos vintagevinyl. Can you confirm the maker of the one in the top photo in the back ... yellow, silver, green, red? That's the same Aion I bought yesterday ... different colors, same sculpt.
I never watched Mirrorman, but this Aion fellow just looks SO familiar. I must've seen him in toy form sometime in the distant past. This is a really cool design, I think, and now I want one, too. Xoco, here's another try at finding a picture of the one you got at S7: http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... entID=1114 Lots of colorways there. If I have in fact found pics of the correct toy, which one did you score? I really like the black one the best, but it looks like a different sculpt. Totally different back. The one listed as blue looks nice, too, with the purple spray. On this crappy monitor it looks gray rather than blue, which makes me think that the 'purple spray' I like so much may not be purple at all. Another observation about this toy (and others as well) is the name. It's been identified in this thread as Aion, but in the link above, it's spelled Aian. The ebay link I posted earlier identifies it as Iron. I suppose this is what happens when kanji are translated into something we can read? The sound of the name approximates the original Japanese, but it can be spelled different ways? It really makes it tough to find some of this stuff with all the different spellings. Maybe I should just learn Japanese. I think my roommate has this language book...
Same sensation here, which is why he "called my name" from the shelf. It looked so familiar. I loved kaiju movies and shows as a kid so maybe... Anyway, yes, that's exactly the one I referred to, same colorway too. The spray on mine is amusingly assymetrical on the feet and legs, but I like it that way. Thanks for finding it at Club Tokyo. I wouldn't have thought to use that spelling. You're right about multiple transliterations being confusing for non-Japanese speakers. Thanks again, I'm going to read up on this and check the other colorways. The toy really has a "presence" that calls attention to itself. EDIT: Oh man, I like ALL the colorways, especially the "black."
There's a black Aion on ebay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=009 I don't know if that's the going rate for that colorway, but in any case, I can't afford it right now. I've spent too much money on vinyl in recent months and have to show some restraint. Hopefully it will come available again when I have the money to spend.
Thank you for the link but I'm in the same boat. Post-SDCC/WF wallet blues. For what it's worth, I paid only $40 for the orange colorway. That particular eBay flipper's prices are said to be generally too high, but I'm not qualified in this case to evaluate market value of the HyperHobby/black version. It sure is cool though. Thanks again for all the help with the info!
my standard size aion is a bullmark . quite a few or the bullmark mirrorman kaiju can be had for $150 if not less depending on the condition . taigon and big eye on the other hand can reach over $5000 or more . the rarest is king wonder and talking to someone who has been collecting vintage for a hell of a long time has only seen one and he owns it .
