Inspired by Thai mythical creatures and Japanese kaiju monsters." Hope u understand man Ps. Josh is my frriend
Dear Bansheebot I will purify myself times to times for making toys I think my resin years are my study years for making sofubi, and maybe more inexperienced than today. Thank you for the frutrations, thats mmake mme ttry hharder oon yyakonimonz, sincerely i hope one day I can sale some toy for you
This. For some reason, the guy suddenly couldn't even get the waist joint right..?! Apart from the obvious technical flaws, it looks quite different in style to me. And all that nonwithstanding, I completely fail to see the connection between the anatomically correct hands in this drawing and the fucked up "hands" that Yak-thing has.
Although I'm not a huge fan of your work, I still think what your doing is cool. I respect your dedication to creation.
The statement in PINK comes obviously from a mean spirited person. Do we really need somebody on the case of some DIY toy artist's borrowing from other sources? pretty sure this is a very common occurrence.
What's the toy scene like in Bangkok? Or just Thailand in general. Last time I was there was in 2008, I was doing some searching for toys and came up with very little. Only a couple of boutique shops with Be@rbricks and a bookstore that sold a few designer toys. Have things changed since? Semi-unrelated note: It's too bad Futura closed his store down over there, I was so bummed to have found that out when I went to the original address.
GHOST NURSING 1982 it would be cool to see something from it sorry for huge pic, best scan i had of this cooler if you could persue a license for a few Thai horror flicks, it takes some time my only advice is quit looking at other toy dolls for influences, start a diet of horror Penanggalan or 'Hantu Penanggal' could be cool depending on your minds eye......... only a few sculpts out there of it, most are cute would be nice to see a frightening one there is lots of cool stufs to inspire on here: http://monster-international.blogspot.com/
There are so many of toys store here that sale the toys from films characters mostly produced by hot toys or 3A, but actually most of thai collectors are focusing on GUNDAM, One-Piece and toys from Japanese ANIME, not much on KAIJU or other indy designer toys. I think this indy-toy culture is just to begun in Thailand, there's small group of young, new-comer of Thai manufacturers will produce the toys in resin. In the process of development their styles. Just begun.. also me too
Yeah many Thanks for the INFO. My Target is to do the cultural toys, not only with original THAI-HORROR spirits but also to the mythical creatures and along with my respect to Japanese Kaiju- they are all my inspired since I was Kid. I will make them more originally-THAI as you see YAKONIMONZ and more to come in the near future. Thank you
i really do not see any Thai influence with your work other than in that name choice......... reach deeper, maybe its within you or maybe not i have my doubts to your body of work thus far not trying to be mean or what ever, just not excited by your sculpts nor overall projection it seems like it (your work) is just a reaction to a few modern sofvi Japanese dolls
Thanks for comments man. My career in TOY MAKER was just begun, its fun and challenge me when I heard the reflect from the guys like you
Oh Thanks Bansheebot to shared that pics... This is my real sculpt for my KOBZILLA resin years ago you will see the whole is my own hands sculpt, its different. It's just 4 inches tall, smaller than the Saihatari for 3-4 inches. That 1st pic was my really inspired for the Saihatari, I cut and paste by my poor photoshop skill to tell my friends that how I want to do, and actually I also inspired by the Kingkong toys from Marusan too. (pic from bonemask) for the head of the figure I inspired from a frog (called KOB in Thai) and form of Thai Architectural Structure and the adaptation of GODZILLA's fins in the back...Just try to merge them to my poor principle design. These all my inspired, It was my fault that I dont tell the world for my tribute in the first when its release, but I told everyone here in Thailand what the way I design from, sorry for the miss communicated. I was just a kid who respect to the Japanese toys and want to making toy like that, I cast them just only 10-20 figures for KOBZILLA to sell for a few of friends, and try to make something original more and more now. Thank you for remind
DEAD OF SLAVERY A few days ago I heard the sad news from the radio that now 29 million people work in servitude, modern days SLAVERY! According to the Global Slavery Index, 29 million children and adults around the world work in servitude. India leads with about 14 million forced labourers, while China has some 2.9 million and Pakistan just above 2 million. Nigeria, Ethiopia, Russia, Thailand, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burma and Bangladesh round out the top 10, measured in absolute numbers. With about 4,000 slaves each, the UK, Ireland and Iceland claim the bottom spot. http://www.theguardian.com/sustainable- ... bour-world So I sad, and auto-made this to reflected that shit! This figure will be Show at PLEA DAY Event | 26 October | Sukhumvit 23 | BANGKOK Lincoln Free all slaves 150 years ago, but people are still mad everyday, eating each other like Holocaust! Hope all slaves will be free soon!
I spend most of times to Sculpt this and Finally He Born... "KOBKAZAN : The Volcano Frog Monster!" , my new 6.5" Clay Prototype This monster was inspired by King Kong and Godzilla And the mythical Frog of Thai folklore. The figure design was inspired by the legendary toys from the past : Amapro's and Marusan's Gorilla, Bullmark's Godzilla , and Ooze IT toy from USA. The design concept is to reflect the emotion of warm-relation, And to respect to the great mythical power of Nature and Earth. The 50 cm long Header Card!!!
