Seriously, every time I look at this thread I see new and more amazing pieces. Really wish Florida wasn't on the opposite coast, a bunch of those pocket figures would be great for my collection.
Hey, I bought that! And, uh, left it at the store. (I'll head back there tomorrow.) It was a great show, I had a great time.
So, a GREAT show. Thank you Scott and Lauren for going to the tremendous effort it took to bring it off so perfectly. ~Z
Albino Gators and Monsters in the Mangroves customs are now up for sale in the Florida Web Store! Many masterpieces still remain! http://bit.ly/djXJGX
Incredible show! Lucky I was by my computer when the leftovers went up Who made this (paper toy?)? Looks like one by Horrorwood.
Last night was great and S7FL was definitely on the Fire Marshall's radar. Sorry there's not as many toy pics as usual but it was tough to maneuver and there were several packs of angry wolverines patrolling the area. The Arbito paints were ridiculously detailed! Oh, and some nice trades going on pre-show. Hopefully more photos later. Here you go...
What a long strange trip.... I've ne'er in my days seen more souls descend upon the S7 'burg location! SO many people, lots of great pieces (both 2d & 3d), plus prizes/victuals/beverages! Good to see all the usual FLASKers, and meeting some new folks, too. There was a ton of trading, drooling, discussion, toy philosophy and general good vibes present throughout the entire day. Scott & Lauren worked their respective arses off, and believe me: it showed. This event was practically a full-on toy riot.... I'd say St. Pete has caught the fever! Thanks to the participating artists, all those in attendance & of course, the S7FL home team. Even bigger thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Gojigirl and Scott H. for their patronage. Super-stoked, "we're not worthy" thanks again to the Bearded One and SuperScott for making the Abino Gator happen. And let's not forget FLTodd, who showed up out of nowhere clutching a bag of the prettiest buttons I've ever seen!!! Caught unaware, I immediately blurted out the quickest expletive that came to mind in front of his wee lovely little doe-eyed daughter(!) You guys gotta tell me about this shit ahead of time... We missed you Frank!
Here's a couple more from the morning, shortly after the store opened at 11. There were about ten folks at opening, two having arrived with portable chairs at 4:45 in the morning. I got there about 9:15 to become #5. And here I thought I had a good chance at being first.
Re: Here's Hollis Here's Arbito's "Stinkfry Hollis," but I call him Hippie Hollis. He looks like Tommy Chong. Arbito's detailing is amazing. Keep in mind this Hollis is the pocket version, only 4" tall.
@ John: great example of film "capture" sir. AND I'm super-envious that D. ended up scoring the GreaseBat canvas!
Oh, how sweet it is! Thanks for the amazing show, Scott. Being broke for it sucked, but this made my month for sure. And yes Abe, it is an unpainted.
who is this D. that you speak of? i am jealous, i had my eyes on that prize but not surprised it didn't make it online...
^^^ #2 in line... hardcore! P.S. Happy to say there's a new MW acquisition in Orlando... his eyes are sooo dreamy....
Good to see it go to some one new to SB someone broke and most importantly someone from Orlando, my favorite place in all of Florida Gratz on the score!
