This may be a stupid question but I haven't seen much discussion on any particular lots that Skullbrainer's may be bidding on. How does one know if someone on SB is bidding on the same lot as you and how are people dealing with that? I know it's getting down to the wire and I'm a little late in the game but there is one particular lot I am interested in. Is it OK to talk about this particular lot and see if (a) someone else is interested in it. (b) If someone is interested in going in on it. (c) if someone bids on it and gets it they might sell me the figures in the lot they are not that interested in or already have? I guess you could just PM me if any of this makes sense and want to find out what lot I'm referring to. If it's cool for me to discuss it out in the open on this thread let me know.
I've heard nothing between the robot guys or the vinyl guys... I know there's some stuff I'm eyeballing for tomorrow morning, and I'm sure it's some of the same stuff other guys are eyeballing, but I've kept the specifics to myself so far. I don't think with how huge the exposure of this thing is that any 'dibs' are going to hold up.
Not trying to be a jerk but from my understanding calling dibs (in the past few years here) on anything out in auction world was a sure way to draw attention to it and possibly blow your own spot up. In a perfect world dibs would be great though! Good luck Connell.
Thanks guys! I wasn't thinking so much of calling "dibs" and asking everyone to back off but more along the lines of going in with someone. There must be numerous lots that people will not be bidding on because they may be only interested in a few figures and were wishing they could find someone to share the cost in that particular lot. At this point I think working quietly behind the scene would be best.
This actually is a pretty good idea. Unfortunately the couple of lots I'm sort of seriously eyeing at the M1 blanks lots, all of which I would use/keep... I'd love to be able to split up some of the RxH stuff tho. There's alot of duplicates within the lots and with stuff I already have.
So let me ask this question and this is mainly directed at Sanjeev. Not sure how this online bidding works, is the same as if you bid on something regularly on ebay?. It appears all of these auctions can not end this early in the morning around the same time. Is your winning high bid just thrown in when the actual live auction happens later today or is THIS the actual auction in progress? EDIT I think I answered my own question it was just for the online bid placement. WE still have to go through the actual auction process. Argghhh.
Why are all the absentee bids closed? Can I not place a bid until the actual auction happens now??? I have class this morning and cannot be around for the first found of auctions at 10... I was just going to place a preemptive bid and pray, and now I can't do that????
I talked to some fellow boardies, and there will probably be some collectors pairing up behind the scenes to go after certain lots. But people on other boards were trying to call dibs on lots and I got the feeling when it comes to this auction people are playing for blood. There are some lots I really wanted, but just don't have the money. Good luck to everyone.
Wow watching this go down on morphy live is so much fun! That butanohana set just went for 1300! And I think I won my auction...this is better than missing out on the puppet seijin.
I got nowhere fast with the online bidding and streaming, probably because of a firewall at work or whatever. Oh well, my wallet appreciates it.
You would have had to register earlier in order to watch things unfold live. There are some crazy deals being had.
I can't get into the live bidding thing either, WTF. I didn't even see what #133 ended for, but that was my baby.
if it went for 1300, that means i won it! unless something strange happened and i screwed up somewhere. i am at work and dont have access to my home email, so i have no idea how my bids are doing. do they send you an email notifying you that you have won?
I can not tell what is going on and it would not take my bid at one point. I do know that the vinyls are going cheap!
it is because there is just too much stuff. i had a list of about 35 different lots i wanted. i had to pare it down to 10 or 11 and just go harder on those than spreading my money out.
whew... i'm in. it's a separate registration process. you can do it now. only takes a few minutes. click register link under Morphy Live.
Yeah registering for Morphy Live is a separate thing you have to do. I could not figure it out either at first. You have to get approval, and they send you a email. I did it and it took less than 10 for them to get back. They'll assign you a bidder number. I was good to go for my auction Lot 64 Shikaruna Poseidon but didn't need to bid as I placed a 300 absentee bid last night and it went for 250. Not sure how absentee bids work so I hope I didn't have to do anything else. Does Morphy just bid for you if you have an absentee bid?
