    My first show off...
    on this forum!

I picked up a set of the 2000 Glow BBs and had some fun with my shiny clear vinyl!!!

What seemed like a good idea at first, suddenly turned out to be a night of comedy of errors. I began by getting my fiance's hair dryer. When I turned it on she asked what I was doing. I told her that I was softening the plastic on my toys so I could put glow BBs inside... of course, she thinking I was nuts, ran to me to see what the hell I was talking about. Needless to say, I got that weirded out look from her! I asked if she could assist me, and being the super smart female that she is, she told me to to what I was doing in the bathroom over the sink so none of the BBs would fall all over the place... Boy was she wrong... no one said how well these little fuckers can bounce!

Fastforward to my putting the BBs in my figures... I started with my innocent Blobpus. I thought it would be easy to pop one arm off, fill in the figure, and pop it back on.... WRONG! This shit is tight as hell and it was near impossible to get the arm back on... so I took the head off filled it up with BBs and somehow, after heating it up was able to get the head back on... TIP - ONLY TAKE OFF THE HEADS!!!!!!

My fiance and I started to work the arms in and she yanked poop blobs head off and out shot thousands of little BBs!!!!! They were bouncing all over the place... It was a mess. Now here is the funny part... unless you are already bored and have tuned away from the beginning... but in case you are still with me... and on the edge of your seat...

We were unable to spot most of the BBs, so I, being the intelligent man I am thought, hey... These glow in the dark! Lets turn off the lights to find them! I don;t know if you all think this is strange, but we were seaching in PITCH BLACK to find little glowing balls! And the only way to continue searching was to REACTIVATE them by turning the lights on and off again! Evrytime I turned off the lights I yelled Activate, and when the lights went off, Reactivate... It was probably a lot funnier being there then just reading this... but next time, or the first time you attempt fiiling your figures with BBS remember this story and if your BBs end up all over the place...remember you can find them in the darkness!!!

So, after that long, meaningless rant, I shall tell you (or maybe just me as I have lost everyones attention by now) that I was able to complete my mission and with just one tube filled with 2000 Glow BBs I was able to fill in my:

    Blobpus

    SDCC Ghost Fighter

    and

    Rainy Day Ghost Figher

Sorry about the crappy pics from my cell phone... and the glow did not show up... but I suggest everyone spend a few bucks on these BBs and get to work because these look killer in person!

I cannot wait to get more clear vinyl!

How hot would glow Pink BBs or glow blue BBs be???

    Thanks for your time!

Hey, great pictures Wize. Love the BB look. Hmmmm...What else can be put inside clear vinyl toys? I know we've seen tinsel and scrap gid pieces. I'm thinking....Jello mold? Be kind of cool with layered Jello and things suspended in it......or is that just stupid.

hey wizeguy I was going to see if I could get one of those clear Real Head figures with the GID BBs in it and then I was going to have PaulKaiju take the balls out and paint one side of them pink but I lost the auction for it on YJA!!!!! Anyway I filled my evil snowmen figures with GID BBs and I think they look really cool!!!!!!! check this thread

Also you are right the easiest way to fill them is to take the heads off and the arms will just fill up as you go. I filled one of my SB figures awhile back. nice pictures man!!!!!

    WG,

Do you actually have the RxH/Blopus set or did you cop the pic from somewhere? Just curious.

Oh - and I am not sure if this will happen - but watch closely the glow BB's and the vinyl. If I know my plastic correctly - eventually the softer vinyl and the harder plastic style BB's will melt into each other. It takes some time but I have seen it happen with older rubber based figures and harder plastic compounds. Anybody ever see a rubber hand on an original Kenner 12" Stormtrooper or Boba Fett? It melts I tells ya, it melts into one another.

Very cool pics. You gotta watch those BBs. Luckily the first time I did the ol' BB stuff routine, I was doing it over carpeting so there wasn't much rolling, but afterwards I did it over a large snack bowl. Made clean up much easier.

no! i've experienced this with other toys when certin types of rubber/plastic/vinyl come into contact. the chemicals just cause them to melt and deform into each other. :(

    worst thing ever.
