Re: Mythic Monsters: Made in Japan Mark, we went up there a couple Saturday's ago, last minute. I have to say it was so cool to see Greasebat in that case! I stood by it for awhile and enjoyed people's reactions. Of course everybody knew Godzilla, a few Ultraman. Very well done sir! The actual exhibit was cool as hell too! I would highly recommend it to anybody here, tons of detailed information on legendary monsters. One of my favorites was a medieval "dragon" skull that was actually an ice age wooly rhino skull. The people of this town in Austria found it, made up a story that the town's founder killed it and displayed it for centuries as a dragon skull. Very cool.
The exhibit has been extended through August 12 so if you get a chance stop by and check it out. Glad you enjoyed the exhibit. Our marketing staff just shot some pics of me by the display case for inclusion in an upcoming publication. I was wearing my GreaseBat t-shirt! Will send you a copy if they use one where you can see the shirt.
Wow, we'll probably be going down to West Virgina this summer, which takes us within 15 minutes of Cleveland - would definitely love to check it out! Anything else to do in that area? We have two toddlers...
Cleveland has a pretty cool science center (Great Lakes Science Center) and a very nice art museum right across the way from the Natural History museum. The art museum has a fun modern art section, and a huge collection of medieval armor!
Hurricane. My brother-in-law works for Toyota. My Japanese sister-in-law somehow did her masters at Marshall, met him there and ended up staying. From Nagoya to Hurricane... She's trying hard to convince him to move!
