Positive-Spent my Edge Day seeing a stellar show in Chicago (Cro-Mags, Merauder, Death Threat, The Killer, Left Hand Path and Convicted [only edge band in the lineup, and it was their last show]) Negative-Reek of cheap beer after having a bunch spilled on me at said show. That and the smell of other people's BO, but it was totally worth it.
There ain't much of a SXE scene in the UK now used to be loads but only seems to be the old guys around like myself (32 ain't to old though is it) shit that's just over 1) years hahaha one of my best memories was playing with Battery and Damnation, great gig
Is it wrong that I was drinking a beer and smoking a bowl the first time I read this thread. "You and I are straight!" Um, no we're not.
Great show, but it was oppressively hot in the venue. Best scene of the night was the kid in the motorized wheelchair moshing during Cro-Mags!
what year was that?? in the UK? My edge day was spent with Darth Hank. For those who have never heard,, Edge day was started 10 years ago for the last TYF(or was it InMyEyes?) show. It became a tradition every year in boston and now around the country. Although I always kind of laughed at the idea, I guess I kind of love it now.
it was the last Ten Yard Fight show, but it was Sweet Pete who declared it Edge Day during the In My Eyes set.
this was back in 1996, flyer is pretty cool for its age but i did do better ones also i have a demo of ex-members of battery which was given to me form the drummer from Frodus a few years later when they stopped over at mine. Don't think it ever got released but could be wrong, i will post a link up later when i get a chance what year was that?? in the UK? My edge day was spent with Darth Hank. Jason Hammacher is a great guy, known him for years, I would like to hear it although I may know what it is. With that said this was one of my all time favorite shows in DC: The Sun set, as if on cue, when damnation hit the stage. Strobes, gas masks and sampler. It was them at their best and in DC. awesommmmee. With that said Brian Flynn is a big fan of battery as well. A band that didn't seem to have fans outside of DC, boston and europe.
ok here is the demo, i think the second song skips a little near the end but depends on what you play it on, i think when Darkest Hour played Newcastle they used some of the footage from the show http://rapidshare.com/files/296292727/Ex-bat.zip.html if more than 10 people pm me and i will send a link from my FTP the DH is on this pic which is being used for one of my old bands discogs coming out later this year, but shit even that gig was 7 bloody years ago
