What are you watching? I just finished season 4 of Friday Night Lights and I think I'm going to have a Louis Malle-fest soon.
Family Guy.. asian drama/thriller flicks.. PS3 got more interesting when it no longer needed a disc to watch instantly
I have been working through Babylon 5 with David. Of course, I have seen it all before. He really likes Kosh and the Vorlons.
You guys need to watch Bad Lieutenant, Nic Cage is just ridiculous in the movie. I hated Nic Cage before I watched the movie, and now I just love watching his bad, over the top, acting.
I watched it on instant last week. I thought it was a great movie. Clearly underrated. Trippy ending too! xhibit also couldn't make me keep a straight face. He had a pimp-my-ride attitude in this one scene (when he turned himself in, and another scene when he smokes some junk)
That show is so damn hilarious even the 3rd time through. David Cross is the man. Arrested Development is soo rewatchable. You just keep finding things that reference to other episodes that you didn't realize before. Probably the best sitcom ever IMO.
Yeah I just kept missing it, I'm glad it was there. My favorites are Gob and Buster and my wife is all about Tobias. It's awesome because usually weird crap happens in sitcoms but with AD since they're rich I can actually see A- Them being that weird and nuts (rich people are weird, I've met a lot, trust me!) and B- Weird crap happening to them.
The best is when Gob has his magic tricks go wrong, like when he accidentally squirts lighter fluid on people because he's trying to make flames come of his hand Or how the whole family cannot do a chicken impression. Plus the blue handprints all over the house from when Tobias was trying to be in blueman group. Man, I could go on forever..
Oh Tobias you blowhard! I love AD. As for streaming, I've been watching Futurama, and just finished Louis (Louie?), we haven't actually watched a movie in a while.
Recently, Zardoz, We Jam Econo and It Might Get Loud. And a lot of 2 days in Paris for work purposes.
Nothing beats Franklin. I find myself loving Lucille more and more too. Honestly there's not a bad character on the show. It's so perfect. I'm kinda glad it ended at 3 seasons, some shows go on too long into being really tired and it's good to see it end freshly. I'm half way through the Batman Under the Red Hood and it's better then I thought it'd be. I don't like a lot of the straight to video DC movies, partially because they don't use the same voices from the animated series and the actors they choose aren't as good. But UTRH has a good cast, I wouldn't think Bender would've been a good Joker but he's alright.
Just watched Black Sabbath and City of the Living Dead (per recommendations from our Horror Movies thread. And of course, The Office seasons 1-6 are always on rotation. I'm home sick today, so I'm debating what to watch later. Maybe Tokyo Zombie?
Make sure you see "Murmur of the Heart" and "Au Revoir Les Enfants" and "Elevator to the Gallows" if you haven't already. God movies. "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" is a GREAT movie! I hate Nick Cage most of the time but in that film and "Leaving Las Vegas" he's pitch perfect. What an odd curve ball from Herzog.
Batman was good, not as good as Mask of the Phantasm or any of the other early B:TAS movies but pretty good all the same. I tried watching Tokyo Zombie, but fell asleep everytime. By the way MST3k has a TON on instant, always good times.
Murmur of the Heart is super on top of my list of favorite movies. The only one I have yet to see is Elevator to the Gallows.
Just watched The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I thought it was decent. Better than Terry Gilliams last 2 movies, Tideland and Brothers Grimm. I'm excited to see how The Man Who Killed Don Quixote will turn out, it's currently in pre production.
this is one of the best inventions ever.. i routinely have a queue filled with the full 500. just finished up skins series three. it's teen drama, but easily the best kind out there. revisiting firefly soon and will probably watch bad lieutenant due to the good words in this thread. i've already heard tales of alligator scenes and other shenanigans. http://instantwatcher.com/ is recommended.
I rent most movies that I watch but Netflix instant view is great for when you suddenly get the impulse to see something-or-other. Like, a couple of weeks ago I realized that it'd been ages since I'd seen "Jaws," and was in the mood, so ... after quickly logging on, CHOMP! There it is! Totally enjoyable and I didn't have to wait for the DVD to arrive. I look forward to the inevitable day when pretty much anything can be seen "on demand" in high definition. It'll be here soon. Last night I used the service to start watching Gaspar Noé's infamous "Irreversable." Oh. Um. Wow. I mean, I've seen a lot of intense, disturbing, twisted and shocking films, and I thought I knew enough about Noé to know what to expect, and I actually liked "Antichrist" and can make a good case for why "Salo" and "El Topo" are great films and all that but noooooo ... Mr. Dean wasn't quite ready for "Irreversable." Still, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it tonight. Sometimes it's good to be shocked. It's like an aesthetic alarm clock or a cold splash of water in the face when you least expect it. Then after the scary-ass nightmares I can retreat into the reassuring safety of my current film-viewing "project," which is to finally get around to seeing all of the existing Harry Potter films. Or will that be nightmarish, too?
If anyone is trying to stream right now you won't be able to. http://www.hackingnetflix.com/2010/11/netflix-experiencing-streaming-problems.html
