Blog says its name is Gagara. I wonder if it is Marnon sized? It seems like it would work well being a little smaller like that and Marnon also lacks articulation, besides the tongue.
Judging from the photo of this guy at Superfestival, it is pretty big. I would estimate about 9" from horn to shell-tip and the same for height. The Akakage sculpts seem generally larger than his original designs.
You know I didn't recognize it as being from Akakage as the Marmit PB is my only reference. I can see the similarities now that I go back and look at the PB, it is just much less round. I love collecting DR even though they are huge, but this thing is taking shelf hogdom to a new level. It would be like somehow trying to fit a small basketball on my toy shelf. Even its arms look like they stick out pretty far to the side.
Does look like this is going to be a substantial piece of vinyl, Opens itself up to some wild paint. Can't wait to see some of these done up.
I take it back- I think the jaw is articulated to open and close. It's kind of interesting that DR has really cut back on the color versions of each new sculpt. I think Girozun only had 2 versions and Zabami only 1 (so far). These were also shown at Superfestival: Blue one is the Rumble Monsters version. Both via Tomopop The 'melted crayon' Chaos customs by DR. These were sold in blind bags. Anyone know if this is all of them? Via Kadomiumtank sofvi blog.
This pic makes me want to get a mini Captain Maxx to put it in my glitter Drazoran ! I've never tried to fill stuff in it but the idea of a swallowed hero is great. I hope the painted version of the mini set will be out soon.
Mark told me yesterday that they just wrapped up making the masks, and he's awaiting the proto painted figs. Sounds like we'll see some painted minis soon.
Oh, is that what's floating inside that clear Drazoran??? HA!! That's fucking brilliant! And that Dead Presidents image is killer...the mini Capt. Maxx looks SO damn hot all painted up!
Clear Mini Maxx was from Kaiju Comrades II in Tokyo, March this year. There were about 10 of them? plus the rest of the minis. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27474260@N08/4410445550/ I think only 3 made it back which was offered in the web store. I'm waiting for the regular painted minis which will be released really soon. Clear Drazoran is a mystery though. Didn't know they existed. @Joe- The glitter is really cool up close.
