How about a red one, or a grey one, or a pink one, or a . . . . the list is endless and the permutations infinite!
Yeah and a bunch of them people wouldn't like too. Also what's the rush? Let them make them when they get there, there's not a time limit right?
Zag this, Zag that. Standard Bako in gold sparkle vinyl with a subtle metallic colorway or clear paints.
Toy collectors are a pretty fickle bunch . . . I'd say sooner rather than later. No complaints here though. It's all $$$ saved!
Sure? They already did one at SDCC - but with a more metallic blue instaed of the regular blue. Some fine looking customs - but at $300 entry level for a standard, and price points in between up to $500 (based on prior shows) - going forward I'd have to choose between these and a painting by some cool up and coming artists.
Yup, some nice paints but setting a custom standard of $300+ has forced me to lose interest after SDCC. Too many minimal paints that don't warrant that price point.
Yeah it was a Hawaiian on solid pink vinyl. That thing was amazing, did someone on the board get it? As far as that Tokyo Mibora, you guys know me...a sucker for yellow vinyl, clear or solid. I can totally agree on all of this. I have one Kiyoka Zag and unless something else really blows my mind I'll stick with just that one. I think the price point is pretty damn high. Still, I think Gargamel has some of the best customs out there.
We're all 'getting old and running out of time' . . . in this case interest, $$$ and shelf space are all likely to run out first!
While I like that Gargamel creates their own original variations of color-ways for their production pieces on figures like the Zag, I'd love to see more homages to classic Kaiju and Japanese super heroes/characters. I think from all the production pieces they've done, a handful are tributes?... maybe someone knows different and I guess I should reference the posters I did...maybe they reserve more tributes for one-offs. At the least, I'd like to see more recognizable tributes... how crazy would a gold, flake vinyl Ogon bat be?! heheh... or a burning Godzilla, Akumaizer 3, a Hattori Ninja monster?! In some cases they might not work quite as well because the Zag, as an example isn't as "humanoid" as a, lets say a RXH figure but still, it might also kick ass.
First(and completely seperate from the quot below), this thread has brought back a little life to SB. People seem to have opinions again and contribute value to at least this thread. Thanks for that. I'd like to see every Bako/Zag release come with an extra head, kinda like Le Merde did with Mibora/Zag customs. Every release would be a zag and a Bako which would be awesome.
I opened mine and a moth flew out and told me that I owed it 5 bucks. animator: I'm with you on the Bako head idea...but then that would mean that I would be buying a lot more stuff (or trying to).
oh and what's up with the standing hedoran standard figure? They haven't done a new one in like 2yrs. I hope they haven't forgotten about him--it's such a great sculpt. I'm surprised that there hasn't been any customs (or maybe I just haven't seen any pics).
There have been hardly any customs. Trust me, I've been looking! Played out or not that would rule. Ever since I saw the mixed part Bemons I've thought about how fun a Zag like that would be.
