Yeah...the spray has gotta be the big cost in production...seems like if its an actual run no-paints should be less $ for sure I still dont get why the old RxH has such a high quality spray....really fine and subtle to bold metallics.....they just seem different ...period. Is this cause the older ones are Mori sprayed ...or at least sprayed meticulously by someone in the inside circle of RHND...ie not outsourced? I never have heard any info on if and when Mori actually sprayed...but Id bet whoever painted them then isnt painting them now More clear colored vinyls and metallics and Evils and Heads ! RHND!
Im also curious about the production technique regarding some recent releases. the TT evil has a very nice matte type finish, while the booska head has a very slick lacquered finish. Seems like a lot of the OG figures have a nice matte finish that lends itself to more subtle color blends and brings a nice look.
You have to remember back then ( the good ol days) a regular run was 20-30 pieces. And FAR less releases. So less figures + less releases = more time to make a perfect painted figure. I dont think the new releases are that bad at all. Some like the TT evil are my favorite of the year.
I never meant they were bad at all...the old sprays just a different quality to them I love most all of them the ones in the last 2 years too!!! I still wonder though if Mori used to paint and when he stopped..maybe its best a mystery RHND!
i do think the guys should charge less for no-paints as they are... unpainted. M1go usually does this.
not really digging this one, but I don't hate it either. a little too hellraiser for me. I like "cute" RxH.
I still wouldn'y buy 'em but this makes a bunch of sense. The time taken to spray and hand finish the new style 'rubbed' Chaos figures that are in the pipeline must be crazy (TT, 11/11, pink S7 show versions) compared to sticking an piece straight from the production line into a bag!
The more i look at this the more i love it. I think it's a little busier in design than the first ones Mori released but haven't most of the recent ones been like that? Jinga R and Orghan B to name a coulple. Does anyone know when and where its going to make its debut? keith
looking at this again. I'm liking it more and more. I really like this deep red unpainted version though. hmmmmm....
I'm liking this sculpt as well. I think it might look better unpainted though. It's going to be interesting once paint is applied.
Not digging it. I feel like this Ichiban-boshi thing isn't workin' for this figure..... I think I would like it alot more if it weren't a "half n' half" type of sculpt. Both concepts being executed here are cool...but not at the same time. I dig the sort of alien-like hand especially.....
The Ichibanboshi stuff definitely has its own characteristics . . . I picked up the Gold Mist pair and they just don't seem to sit comfortably with the regular RxH at all!
aw man, that sucks they don't work for you. I like the ryusei and mikazuki sculpts, but I steered clear of the goldmist versions. IMHO, I don't think the goldmist is the most flattering colorway on what I've seen except for Shinto and Mutant Head--but then again, those two sculpts can do just about anything right. unless you hate the sculpts, I would recommend giving the ninjas another shot in a different colorway. the GID pearl ryusei/mika versions are really good to me. I call them the "ghost" versions--since they're ninjas and all. the mikazuki is just so surreal in pearl GID vinyl that I have to pick him up like every day. gold lame and charactics makes me shit blood--blood I tell you!
I ain't hating 'em . . . I could see 'em working real well if they were sat with other colourways and the new 'ape' scuplt etc on a whole other shelf as a separate collection (which is how I guess they should be viewed) but with the current rate of output my CC and sanity are both grateful they don't float my boat enough to go for it!
