First Mutant Chaos I've liked in quite some time. Would love to see the rest of the OG figures in this colorway.
Via Lulubell Toy Bodega - "Did you know these crystal cut eyes are discontinued, after Mori's back stock is out that's an end of an era"
Maybe for Mori in Japan, but these have been made for years and I cant see them just stopping all the sudden.
I asked Amy over at Lulubell if we could get the new blue fade Mutant Evil / Mutant Head set she said: "We will not be getting the blue fade. It was uber limited and sold out last weekend in seconds I hear. Sorry I couldn't be more help on that one." Man this really sucks! Mori releases the best variant in a long while and we can't even get it here in the USA!
Yeah . . . a Japanese dude manufactures a toy in Japan and sells it to Japanese collectors . . . that sucks sooooo much!
Damn Japanese, who do they think they are! I really hope we see the yellow and minty Chaoses painted. I have enough unpainted Mutant Chaos.
Okay, I understand where your coming from sarcasm and all, however, it wouldn't be so bad if other ME's & MH's that were near this good were released here in the USA, but quite frankly I have not seen the enthusiasm for many of the fight size releases of late.
I dont think theres anything wrong in expressing disappointment that this colorway is not more widely available - if anything it shows passion for the line. Itas simple as: it's awesome and I'd like to add it to my line-up of evils, but I'd prefer not to pay celga fees and an inflated price.
It's all perspective too and you can't 'catch them all." Personally I think the near identical but clear fade set is far superior and that was at least accessible here. I also think the mutant cupcake was one of the best releases stateside. Most people here had the ability to score and other people in Japan didn't. If I had the opportunity to get this or the clear fade...the clear fade would win it every time. I don't care which one was more limited..it's all about what I like. If you think this is one of the best releases ever then spend the almighty dollar on yja...
i wouldn't say the white blue fade MH & ME soldout in seconds. for the number-obssessed, there were around 9 of each sold publicly. but i think it does not necessarily mean there are only 9. anyway, is 9 uber-rare? i think no need to get overly excited yet. there were far fewer junk-spot flesh painted MH sold publicly back then, yet it is still popping up sometimes. personally, i feel the clear blue fade looks a shade better when comparing side-by-side but the new pair is indeed bringing some good old days back. way to go RxH.
Sorry if I took it the wrong way but it came across as entitlement rather than disappointment. The 'ease' of RxH availability in the US is primarily down to one small store in the the middle of Arizona and a few independents . . . .without them busting the hump to bring stuff over virtually everything would have to be bought via an intermediary (like the good old days!). Looking the big picture . . . access to the vast majority of good stuff has never been easier than it is right now, and as Bryce says, if you can't live without it there's always YJA (or a little patience). Climbing off soapbox . . . gotta clear some work and pack!
Talking of teh good old days - this how I remember it; Pre mid 2005 teh only folk I knew into RxH was Brian and then Isaac. Brian raved about RxH to me at SDCC05 - then the search was on. Up to that point it was via YJa, which altho very few and far between in appearance, when it did appear no one bid against you. MC-01, 02 and 03 in one lot for opening bid of 15,000 yen for instance!!! Things changed when Kozik and his BambooMafia id discovered RxH and then he swept thru YJa like a fury scooping up all new RxH. Then S7 did a really great job of supplying, and introducing RxH to the US audience from early 2006 and it was solidly available on these shores with the odd boost from a favorite flipper ot two. And now Luke and AMy are flying the RxH flag - and thank God for that! So, yeah, maybe I am a bit spoiled - and I've had enough of intermediaries, stupid fees and crap exchange rates - or getting some intermediary to get you a secret release fomr some fest for 10K yen, and being sent a Chaos Poo thing which cost you a $100! You'd have to be a masochist to prefer to go that route on a regular basis! Anyway, doesnt change my original assertion: I wish I could get this figure relatively easilly because its so OG styling. But, it'll turn up..eventually as someone, somewhere trims their collection. I lusted after the Pop Soda Evil, awesome but not available here, and Jason even posted in my wants thread that I was looking for a unicorn. But sure enough it tuirned up - thanks to an awesome trade. So this will too. Over and out.
