To me there is no difference. I think it's horrible. I understand that's only the way I feel about it, and I don't judge anyone who likes these figures. They just aren't for me....and they make me want to die. ;)

    I love those customs.
I also bought the lemerde custom crawling hedoran from the S7 party and its unreal.

I sent 2 ya cats to the Grasshut boys for customising. This is the first one. Its out there but thats why I love peoples customs. You never know what your gonna get. And this one is a blast.

lol thats why I like this stuff, it is creative, unique an doesnt try and be oh so cool its just fun.

    :)

Yeah 100 seems too much but this stuff is hand made. Hand made people. Alot of work/time and materials go into making one of these buggers ( ;) see below).
people pay dont seem to mind paying that much for lemerde resins. I dont see the difference between paying for a roto cast figure or a hand made resin. One is expensive to tool and then is free to be cast almost indefinately (pls excuse my ignorance of rotocasting) and the other is comparativley cheap to cast but is labour intensive and you could break/wear the mold.

My take on it is that they do it mainly for the love of it, if these guys wanted to make big money they would get "professional" jobs.

Sumatra that shits allready been said if yr gonna dis atleast come up with something new.

I dunno I think picking this and those slugs out of all the stuff available is kinda going after low hanging fruit. These seem to be some kit bashed toys or perhaps they made a toy of what they could afford to spend (not an awesome business plan imo). Now discernment is not necessarily a quality that is readily available with a lot of western toy fans, and I wouldn't choose to spend my money making these, but to pick the bottom of the barrel and put it on the same level as lets say for instance the giver statue is like comparing apples and oranges.

If you mean the resins, I don't know...

When people laugh about toy collectors I think they're thinking more along the lines of a 30 Year Old Virgin "I got my Star Wars dudes MIB guys! Complete set!!!" archetype.

When I see a lot of the resin stuff that's been coming out as of late (Bwana definitely excluded... I really dig the Killer resin) I can't help but think of junior high arts and crafts.

Good job scoring booth #1337, though. Maybe he can loop All Your Base on his laptop for the entire convention...

Those slugs are ridiculous, but the fact that it's spelled with an umlaut is hilarious. :D

I hadn't been following this thread. Just now read the whole thing at once. I'm glad I'm not going to SDCC08. What very little I'd want will probably be obtainable later. Any extra bit going to flippage for those figures will be less than the costs of travel, hotel, etc. Western "urban vinyl" is is such a pathetic state. Thank god for the ongoing evolution of new kaiju and J-vinyl and their intercontinental collaborative tributaries. Just don't tell anyone, okay? Let them eat tokidoki.
