The toys look a little dry this year.

Maybe SDCC is getting back to it's roots.

Off topic, I have actually gone the other way and prefer the whole thing. I love fried fish heads, I like to eat them ala Danny DeVito Penguin style by just chomping them off in restaurants.

You know, while I really used to like Kathie Olivas ( I actually own a few original paintings) the fact that she's turned into a total and complete toy whore is really, really annoying. It's symptomatic about what's wrong with the whole Western thing - "Wow, the kids like this. Let's flood the market with a zillion colorways, and make most of 'em limited so they'll have to spend $450 of Dad's dollars to find one." Not that she's responsible for the aftermarket, but she has to be aware of it, and if she cared about her "fans" as much as she claims, she'd hopefully do something about it. Plus, those Scavengers toys are some of the most cheap-feeling pieces of shit I have ever purchased. (I know, I know - but I learned my lesson). It seems like they spent more time and money on the packaging than on the toy itself. I don't begrudge artists making money, but in her case it just seems opportunistic. /rant.

I have to admit loving the print this is based on, and thinking the toy is funny and clever.

I remember a long long time ago on a board far far away a bunch of people bashing a drunk bird toy for having "x" eyes as a KAWS bite.
    hahahaha
