Please allow me to introduce my new resin toy “Oni Resuraa” AKA “The Demon Wrestler”! I wrote a sort of “Press Release” for blogs and such. Here it is: “The Demon Wrestler has been formed! Newcomer, PNL Toy Works presents the debut release of his "Oni Resuraa" figure. Hand painted and made of resin, this beast stands nearly 8" tall! If the arms and legs look familiar, it’s because this toy is based on a rubber wrestling figure from the ‘80s! Can you guess which one? This edition of only 5 toys also includes a M.U.S.C.L.E. tribute header card that explains Oni Resuraa’s tormented past!” It’s far from perfect and there are many things that I am planning on improving for future runs but I worked really hard on these guys and I’m pretty happy with how they came out. I really love the backstory for Oni Resuraa. I included it on the back of the header card but I figured I would post it here as well. "The contract signed, a once great wrestler is bound in blood to the Demon Lord Enma in exchange for unsurmountable power. Power so great it drives him insane, turning his lust for dominance in the ring into a homicidal rage. Unwittingly, he fulfills his contract by committing the most heinous act of all: the murder of one's own family. Sentenced to death by decapitation, his mutated and disfigured body transforms. Gruesome and Ogre-like, his missing head regrows, emerging from his torso, larger and more demented than before. Known simply as Oni Resuraa, he remains on Earth to terrorize the living as a brutal servant of Lord Enma, ruler of Hell." I just love daydreaming about a wrestler that becomes unstoppable as a result of a contract with Satan. Then he turns criminal and at his beheading turns into a mutant Oni and just starts attacking the crowd. Bloody elbow drops that crush bodies, spine-snapping suplexes, head crushing piledrivers, the whole thing is just a lot of fun...or maybe I'm just demented!?
