Even though this pink Evil is bubble, I wonder if it's gonna be the first 'dual-role' RxH piece - The first 'X-marks-the-spot' piece where two different RxH lines intersect. First, there's apparently the 'pink-bubble set' under way -- First the Akro and later the pink (presumably bubble) Chaos we've seen in the case, with this pink-bubble Evil coming in between. Only the pink-bubble Bigaro has not clocked in (yet). But there's also the 'four colors set' we are currently halfway through, and the expected-next figure in that set is also a pink Evil, with yellow eyes. 'Colors' set - Green Chaos / Blue eye (recent Hulk/Toxie-2/shorts one) Blue Head / Pink eye (recent turquoise/shorts one) Pink Evil / Yellow eye (soon?!) Yellow Bigaro / green eye (eventually, to close the circle) I guess it's possible this Evil is only a part of the 'bubble' set, and that there will be a different yellow-eye pink Evil to fit into the Colors set -- I had expected that the shorts were part of the continuing scheme for the Colors set. I doubt it, though - And besides, I like the idea of one piece serving as the intersection of two different sets! So - If this speculation is correct, would this Evil be the first RxH piece that has a spot in two different, intersecting OG4 sets? I can't think of another one ...
I don't think this Evil has anything to do with that "4 color" set at all...it couldn't be any further from that aesthetic. it's just a pink bubble Evil...and it is amazing.
Hey, I certainly don't know, I'm just tossing the possibility out there! But it would be unusual if we have two different pink Evils, both with yellow eyes and both upcoming soon. I agree 100% this doesn't look much like the first two from the Colors set, it's mostly the yellow eyes that make me wonder if it's intended to play a dual role.
i don't think guy will be for the OG Colored set. As Lorne was stating, too much of a different aesthetic. matches the Pink Akro Bubble nicely though....! I want it
also, last year there way a period where a handful of green chaos figures were released after one another...so what's to stop more than one Pink evil from coming out? though I think Don't post needs following up: where did this info about the "full color set" and it's upcoming releases come from?
I thought the bubbles were part of that logo with the four OG's mimicking the KISS logo. Anyone want to post that again?
AFAIK, it came from these - I didn't come up with the idea, someone else noticed after the turquoise Head was first shown that this pattern seemed to be developing. I actually think it would be great if the pink Evil played a dual role - maybe Mori should just issue an opaque-pink body with painted shorts, and this Evil's head can be interchangeable ...? Naahhh, never mind - That wouldn't work.
I kind of figured that for the vinyl colors - but where are the eye colors coming from? Why yellow eyes on the evil?
Each figure's eyes match (more or less) the color of the next upcoming figure's vinyl ... That's why Yellow Bigaro with green eye would 'close the circle.'
Yoinks! I hadn't even thought about the broader "Bubble Set"! So this Evil would be the third in that set (if we count the two colors of bubble Chaos together)? Fourth? Bubble Grey/Orange Chaos Bubble Green Mutant head Bubble Pink Akro? Bubble Pink Evil? It would be pretty odd for a 'set' to have an Akro before it got a Bigaro, and also it seems unlikely that two of a set would be pink ... Maybe Joe is right and this pink Evil is indeed the intersection of a Pink Bubble Set and the other, Multi-Bubble set (for lack of a better name right now), but the pink-bubble Akro is only a part of the Pink-Bubble Set? Either way, we should see one or more colorful Bigaros coming down the pike. Or maybe this pink Evil sits at the intersection of all three sets, as the unsuspected nexus of the whole RxH Empire.
This one looks good, but not as good as the Akro with its cigarette-burn eye. He should've tried something innovative with the paint on the Evil as well, instead of plain yellow eyes like the slime version. Pink Akro is my most desired rxh released this year...
I agree...I was kinda hoping for a sprayed, not-so-neat black and yellow eye treatment....like the Akro. Either way, I can't wait to get this Evil.
+1 all around - I guess he could have stubbed real butts in the eyes of each Evil, but it does seem just a bit extreme. Actual scorch marks on yellow eyes might look quite cool, but it would probably always smell like tobacco. I know a company that makes tiny branding irons (for furniture makers to mark their work, not for S&M - at least as far as I know), maybe Mori would like one ... He could use the same kanji (?) as is on most of the Cat coins, or the diamond-shaped logo, or ... I wonder if you could find a temperature at which you could actually 'brand' vinyl without just making a molten mess of the spot?
I made that prediction. I would imagine this evil is for the bubble set, not a color release; which I believe will be a solid red, not pink bubble evil. I dont think we can bottle the bubble figures into character traditional 'sets'. possibly we get 3 pink bubble figures now, but I would not be surprised if we dont see the rest of the characters in the pink bubble vinyl. I would, however expect at least 2 more releases for the solid color "shorts" set. a branding iron.... really? I would much prefer a mark molded into the original press, rather than trying to burn anything into a perfectly good piece of vinyl.. I think this would create a strange odor and color of vinyl and leave the edges crisp and unsightly.. especially on bubble vinyl. I also think the eye on all figures but the akro are painted 1 color solid... because thats how the characters are usually seen. most akro eyes are painted 2 color eyes, where most previous evil and head releases have single color eyes - like these bubble releases. I think mori is sticking to the original recipe for these figs, just breaking boundaries on bubble vinyl. -T
my opinion is paint on bubble vinyls don't look good, so this evil does look rather boring paint-wise. however, the bubble vinyl does look good on its own. i compared the pearl pink and bubble pink chaos and i must say each has its own character. as for whatever intersection theory, which is unlikely part of any gameplan, perhaps the pink bubble chaos is the more likely candidate? it is the 3rd and maybe last of the bubble chaos and part of the pink multi-character bubble set which i believe may be also ending with 3 characters. wow.
