Christopher Lee died on 7th June 2015. The man was an acting legend and apparently a very nice fellow. R.I.P Dracula . . .
Great actor. The first thing I ever saw him in was Gremlins 2 when I was a kid. I'll always remember him not as Dracula or Dooku or Saruman, but Dr. Catheter.
Sad news. He had so many amazing and quintessential roles, some of those listed above and so many more. For me, one of his defining characters will always be this: May he rest in peace, and live on forever in film.
^^ hell yeah . . . And dont forget reprising his role as Dracula in that loopy film 'The Magic Christian'. The same film where you get to see Yul Brynner as a Transvestite singer in full drag.
I am a huge Tolkien geek, and so was Christopher Lee. It was a big deal for him to play Saruman, and legend has it that he and Peter Jackson had a bit of a falling out over arguments regarding Saruman's portrayal. They obviously mended fences as he was in The Hobbit films. To accomodate his advanced age and inability to travel, Peter Jackson's production crew went to the UK to film his parts. He will always be Saruman to me, but I loved all the Hammer Horror films, and enjoyed his voice acting skills as Pastor Galswells in Corpse Bride.
93 years is quite a long stay, but still, I am sad he is gone from this world. However, his work remains immortal!
