I wonder what the creators business game plan is for Real X Head. Is it to follow Secret Base and produce a million colors/variation/texture possible for each figure? I hope they just move forward and create new stuff w/o the fear of creating a shitty product.Just be creative and customers will always be there. I i was just thinking on the $ i spent on the hobby and was wondering what kind of profit margins they are making on this business theory. Say they produce 1 figure with 30 different color variations at 100 per color "limited editions". Thats a good profit. I think the creativity is very high in these companies and producing great artists. I think Its great they do financially well for their hard work, but shitty to do things for a dollar.

I actually like the fact that they produce a million different colors of everything. There's alot of evil, evil color combos that can be used so why limit yourself to just one colorway per fig? This way I can tell if I like a figure better in clear purple or black blood-splattered w/ GID head! 8)

I think you have a good point.I just think they shouldn't overproduce the figure to death and suck the life out of it.

I like the fact the smaller companies produce so many figures in different colorways, it keeps your intrest and you know if you miss out on something a new gross colorway is just around the corner. I don't think making 10 of any version of a toy is the best idea if money is your motive.

They produce so many colorways of each figure because they need to recoup the cost of the sculpts. a nice sculpt in Japan can start at a $1000 and go up from there. It also costs quite a bit to press the vinyl here but with small runs (and to maintain) they have to do it locally. You got to sell a lot of copies of a given fig to even come close to brea even. the guys doing here are doing it as a labor of love above and beyond their day jobs for the most part.

Kozik is really on to the right idea with his subscription service, I hope more artists can go that route and we can be there Medicis to their Michaelangelos...
and cut cut out the profiteers on evil bay

I always had the impression that Katsura does all of his own figure sculpting. Does he just sketch some turnarounds and send them out for sculpting? If so, that sounds like an expensive way to go...

making your fiures in japan is 2-4 times as much as in china, so you really need to get your quantity up there to recoup the $.

I really think RxH has done a great job keeping their newer version looking better and better!!!!!!!!!! some of them that I have bought look cool in the picture but when I actually get the figure they are just so much cooler. One for example is this Metallic Green Mutant Evil that I have, in the picture when I bought it the figure just looked regular green but then when I it was metallic and it is one of my favorites!!!!!!!! I kinda would like to see some figures retired and new ones brought out but I can understand having to pay for sculpts and all that.
